21.01.2022 Playwright: Jessica Swale Director Megan Dansie PRESENTED BY STIRLING PLAYERS Part restoration drama, part saucy romp, part rollicking comedy! ... Nell Gwynn can dance, sing and do the other thing Set in the 1660s when England’s theatres have just re-opened and the monarchy restored after the demise of Puritan Oliver Cromwell, the new king, Charles II allows women to appear on stage for the first time. Actress Nell Gwynn is courageous, talented and charming. But can her spirit protect her from the dangers of the court when she becomes the King’s mistress? This play celebrates a woman ahead of her time, is a loving tribute to the world of theatre, and is known for its bawdy humour, cheeky double entendres and a cast of larger-than-life characters. It takes history lightly, and plenty of liberties about Nell’s life. So, throw off your puritanical-no-fun-will-be-had hats, and head to Stirling Theatre and enjoy the light hearted, light fingered take on one of the bawdiest periods of English history!

09.01.2022 Stirling Community Theatre Closed. In light of recent events and our Government’s recommendation to limit public gatherings, we are closing the Stirling Community Theatre through to 13 April 2020. Our first priority, of course, is to adhere to the measures outlined by our public officials to ensure the safety of our patrons, artists, members, and the general public. ... We will assess the ongoing situation weekly and determine if we need to extend the suspension past 13 April, in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. If your child is enrolled in Hills Youth Theatre classes, the Class Co-ordinator will contact you with regard to updates and recommencement of classes. Closing the venue saddens us and as an independent non-profit organisation, we depend on patronage to sustain our organisation. We look forward to giving our community outstanding performing arts once this crisis has passed. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued generosity.
