24.01.2022 Matsos Beers, birds and beasts! We welcomed our first amazing group of people for our very first Broome 3 in 1 Tour yesterday. We were treated as VIP guests at... each location and so wonderful to see visitors to Broome having such a great time. Dimas and the team at Matsos Beer Matsos Brewing Co turned on the food and service! John at the 12 Mile Bird Park provided a private tour through his brand new walkthrough aviary which very entertaining for the kids watching their parents be loved up by a Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, eager to make a name for himself and the petting zoo. Johani, the croc park handler Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park put on a sensational tour which didnt stop Uncle Sully from wanting to wrestle any crocodile. We did all manage to keep him at bay. It was really lovely to welcome travellers Daniel from Geraldton, Pauline and Reg celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary from Perth, and the Crain gang from Tom Price celebrating a couple of birthdays We cant thank you enough for a great afternoon. Very cute and wonderfully behaved children too Enjoy your Broome trip guys! All the very best. They realised afterwards that they had lost something special, but on the day we couldn't find it and we didn't manage to grab their contact details. Today the item has been unearthed near one of the cages. Rex has been entertaining visitors since before the Park even opened; he used to live next to the shed and dance to the music on the TV, and steal Johns pens out of his pocket to throw them away! Now he and Bonnie greet guests as they pass the entry desk. Rexs repertoire includes crying like a baby and ringing like a telephone. 05.01.2022 Bring your friends!! WE ARE OFFICIALLY REOPENING! We have decided that in order to be at our best for welcoming back our visitors, were going to take a little extra time to prepare and therefore have set our official reopening date as SATURDAY 13TH JUNE.... We will have a COVID19 Safety Plan in place, including social distancing, patron limits and hand washing/sanitising facilities to keep everyone as safe as possible. Our staff will also be completing the AHA COVID19 Hygiene Course prior to reopening. Our feathered and furry friends are very much looking forward to having visitors again. The great news is the food bill for the Park is covered for this month and even better, we will be reopening to the public from Saturday 13th June (with COVID19 Safety Plan in place). 02.01.2022 It was a privilege to spend a few quiet minutes sitting with this beautiful wild Gang Gang near the Crago Observatory in Bowen Mountain today. As kids we used ...to call them corkscrew cockies due to their nattering and creaking which resembles the sound of a cork being pulled from the bottle.
