22.01.2022 The NDIA have finally provided some clarification around the threshold for low cost AT. Heres what we know: Planners now have authority to include funding in... plans for AT items up to $5k without needing to go through extended AT processes (bye bye "quote required" for items under $5k!). This is great news that will help to reduce wait times on a lot of important items These new AT line items cover vision, communication and information needs, home modifications and access, household tasks, personal care, hygiene, beds, personal mobility or transfer, prosthetics and orthotics, sport and rec and vehicles and transport safety. The Planner still needs to be satisfied that the AT is reasonable and necessary so its probably still a good idea to bring some evidence as to why its needed and a value for money outcome. The low cost AT threshold ($1,500) has not increased. The announcement published in the Quarterly Report was incorrect. As the Quarterly Report was approved by COAG, the NDIA should stand by the information published for the period of time until the clarification was issued. Claims made during that period, up to the $5k threshold, may be disputed but should be allowed due to the confusing published information. Please help spread the word!

21.01.2022 Hi Facebook Friends Our new Behaviour Management Analysis (BMA) has just gone live on the Apple Store!! What is BMA?... Behaviour Management Analysis is a real time record keeping mobile application that allows carers or therapists to record valuable information about a clients behaviour. It also captures information about their surroundings, interactions, dietary information and medication. Detailed analysis reports can be used to supplement support initiatives such as behaviour management plans and funding applications. Could I please ask you share this post as it may help a family to receive more funding.

18.01.2022 The APA has received the following advice from the Federal Minister for Health, The Hon Greg Hunt: The Australian Minister for Health has today confirmed that A...LL allied health businesses can continue working and are encouraged to do so. In addition he has indicated that they are now developing full allied health telehealth options within the week for allied health along with all other health and medical services. This will be part of a staged plan. Face to face services for many remain vital so where possible, we encourage you to continue. I thank you for your courage, dedication and care, the Minister said. The APA continues to monitor this changing situation closely and will provide you with advice and guidance as it becomes available.

11.01.2022 Big thank you for the generosity of one of our talented Physios, David Chan, and his family in assisting My Rehab Team to get a good supply of protective masks. The Chan family has donated many to local businesses and communities as well!

11.01.2022 A couple of our titled neurological physios, Jo and Rujuta, did a joint Tele-health session with one of our MS clients. The client used a bike clamp to anchor the surface pro computer so that we were able to see the dragging legs, shrugging shoulder, the plonk when she sat down. It was all in all an effective session. We were all pleasantly surprised.
