24.01.2022 Nikki Redman Photos took some wonderful video of a koala battling the winds all to get some wonderful juicy leaf. Koalas will go to extraordinary lengths to satisfy their hunger. Enjoy this one #DareDevil #Wind #Storm

19.01.2022 Flinders came in a few days ago after being found at the bottom of a tree. With bloods all good, a healthy appetite and no injuries he was declared fit to go. So he was returned to his home territory where unfortunately the live broadcast lost reception after only a few seconds and we had to quickly switch to video.... If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOLAZ for help or advice.

18.01.2022 It's going to be a hot one so let's look after our koalas.

17.01.2022 You just never know what kind of wildlife you will see at the Adelaide koala and wildlife hospital. Whilst taking Madeleine, Yoda and Indi for their check up we chatted with another carer who was loaded down with not only twin roos, 5 Adelaide rosella chicks and an assortment of possums but also this gorgeous little girl. I love wombats almost as much as I love koalas and this joey wombat whose fur is just starting to come through is about as cute as they come. Even at this tiny size she is built like a little tank.

16.01.2022 Skye and Walker are doing well in the Gunya climbing around, relaxing and eating well. When we went to check on them and take fresh leaf yesterday they were distinctly unimpressed to see us. Skye looked at us as if to say you can forget about me coming down, there is no chance.... As for Walker he was definitely telling us take one step closer and I’ll get my mum onto you, her nails are sharper than yours. If you see a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ for help or advice.

15.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ Pickle remains in care after being hit by a car. He recieves physio 3 times a day and is doing very well indeed. Here is Pickle enjoying the misting system in the avairy cooling him down. Pickle decided he liked the misters soooooo much that he decided to sit right in front of several jets. The end result being a totally soggy and wet Pickle. Funny fella Pickle is! Remember to leave water out for wildlife in a shallow dish like a kitty litter tray ... If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala please call 1300KOALAZ 24/7.

15.01.2022 Huge thank you to Scott Magain for stopping at the bottom of the Southern Expressway to rescue this little lady. Even at 4.45am there was traffic and she could have been hit. Once a koala gets on the expressway or freeway they can’t always get up the other side and tend to run around on the road looking for a way off.... Thanks to Scott this little koala got a helping hand up the other side and out of danger. All our rescuer had to do when they arrived on scene was say thank you as Scott had already taken pics and video too. If you see a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAS for help or advice.

12.01.2022 Let’s play SPOT THE KOALA. Sometimes even our #1300KOALAZ rescuers find it hard to see the koala in a tree. Can you find the koala/s in the tree here? We won’t say how many koalas there are in this picture so look forward to hearing how many our followers can see. Very good camouflage is right!... If you see a sick injured or orphaned koala please call 1300KOALAZ. 24/7

12.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ Hugh Fluffy Ears Jackman is spending the day sleeping today. He is going ok and is in for a more thorough vet check today. Hugh has a few little things that his carer has picked up which require checking over before we can continue with his rehabilitation. Hugh really is a gentle giant and is so very loveable. If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala, please call 1300KOALAZ. 24/7

12.01.2022 Emma has become something of a ‘paste’ junkie. Some koalas in care require extra supplements to help keep them from losing weight. The supplements are mixed into a paste and given to the koala.... Unfortunately for her carer, Emma loves the paste so much that whenever she goes in the aviary to clean or replenish the leaf pots or put in fresh water, Emma follows her around the aviary wanting her daily ‘fix’. It makes working in the aviary very difficult when you have a koala wanting to climb your leg. If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ for help or advice.

11.01.2022 New recruit to #1300KOALAZ Hugh Fluffyears Jackman. #hughjackman

10.01.2022 On Saturday late afternoon once the cool change started to come through Skye and Walker got to go home. I think you will agree looking at the video that Skye is in fine form. She was so excited to get home that she completely forgot about her baby, couldn't wait for the side to be opened and decided to climb out of the top instead.... Walker made his feelings clear on that one and wasn't impressed with the hand on his butt making sure he got up the wide part of the tree safely. If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ for help or advice.

09.01.2022 Trevor the koala got himself into quite a situation by climbing on top of a shed roof. Oh drats said Trevor This silly tree is all flat and has nowhere for me to climb...how in dickens am I going to get down from here?... Trevor was lucky that the home owners were aware of the supreme talents of #1300KOALAZ and with a quick phone call, our rescuers were out there in a dash to help Trevor down from the roof andback into a tree that he was more familiar with. If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala, please call 1300KOALAZ 24/7

07.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ Alex, decided that it was time to go home. Alex spent the night pacing up and down the aviary and bellowing a lot last night. Lucky the neighbours are also in love with Alex and his heavenly tunes. When the rains came, Alex was wanting to be up a tree and enjoying the wind and rain on his fur. After a quick trip to the vet for a last once over, Alex was given a big thumbs up that he was ready for life in the wild. His carer promptly took Alex to a site within 1km ...for the place he had encountered his dog attack. Alex the very lucky boy, is now free and safe from danger. We wish him all the best. If you see a sick injured or orphaned koala please call 1300KOALAZ. 24/7

07.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ Indi is enjoying hanging out in the aviary in this lovely warm weather. She is not so keen on her aviary mate Emma. It's not that she doesn't like Emma it's just that every time fresh leaf is put in the pots Emma likes to get to the leaf which is closest to Emma rather than sample the same leaf from a different pot. Indi is so good natured she lets little Emma push her out of the way and usually heads off to another pot of leaf to settle down beside and munch fro...m. If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ for help or advice.

05.01.2022 Yesterday one of our #1300KOALAZ rescuers went out to a heat stressed koala. After misting it down, wetting the bark and leaving water in a shallow container at the base of the tree our rescuer was surprised to find another hot koala at the base of a nearby tree. Of course this koala got the same treatment as the first.... Being the good rescuer she is our girl on the scene settled down to keep an eye on the koalas to make sure they were ok for a while when to her surprise this big boy came strolling past making sure everyone, including the two hot lady koalas, knew he was there. If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ for help or advice.

04.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ welcomes Hannah! Hannah is in as she has a ulcer in her eye which is being treated. We are very lucky that a concerned resident at Salisbury Heights noticed Hannah and called 1300KOALAZ. If the resident did not do this then Hannah’s ulcer would have continued to get worse and could have resulted in her going blind. Treatment is going really well but this daring little darling will be in care for a little while yet. Hannah is far from impressed at being in an aviar...y. Koalas are wild animals and do not like their freedom being taken from them. This is why it is important that all koalas have a large aviary to move around in (This is also the standard aviary size as per State Government requirements) Hannah eventually settles after she finds that there are no escape routes that she can find.......we can assure our followers that a koala will find an escape route and weaknesses in any aviary and use it to their advantage. That is why it is important for our permitted carers to check their aviaries on a regular basis. Enjoy Hannah and her detailed exploration of the aviary which will be her home for a few weeks. If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala, please call 1300KOALAZ 24/7

02.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ Princess Eleanor and her baby Princess Little One were recently spotted by Emma Clark climbing a tree, Princess Eleanor made worldwide news after telling Brad Pitt the Koala to leave her and her baby alone. It is so heart warming when you see one of the koalas you have cared for nice and healthy and getting on with life. Biggest thank you to Emma for giving me the best surprise tonight. More pics in post xx... If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala please call 1300KOALAZ 24/7

01.01.2022 #1300KOALAZ has been very active recently assisting landowners affected by the Cudlee Creek bushfires to replant their land with native trees. The native trees will eventually grow into a fabulous wildlife corridor and bring back wildlife into the area. We are very pleased to have received donations from general public as well as #FultonHogan to assist us in recreating a wildlife corridor through the Cudlee Creek bushfire zone. So far 1300KOALAZ has given away close to 30,00...0 native plants to affected landowners. One area of concern is Salvation Jane, which is a pest weed. Many landowners have asked us if we are aware of any assistance with this pest. Here is the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board demonstrating how to be aware if your property has agents on it and who you can contact to help control Jane. We will recommence giving away native trees to affected landowners once the weather cools down. If you are an affected landowner and would like some natives, please PM #1300KOALAZ via our facebook page and we will be happy to assist. If you are interested in donating money for natives you can do so through the donate button. If you have received trees from #1300KOALAZ and would like to post them, please feel free to post away :) If you see a sick, injured or orphaned koala please call #1300KOALAZ 24/7
