25.01.2022 Today #OurPeople attended the 50th anniversary of #OpHammersley at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Op Hammersley took place at the foot of the Long Hai hills in Vietnam. The operation involved numerous Australian Army units, including tanks from A SQN 1st Armoured Regiment - Australian Army and serves as a reminder of how the Regiment has always demonstrated the ability to deploy as a combined arms team that is agile, scalable and lethal.... #AustralianArmy #GoodSoldiering #Teamwork #YourADF
24.01.2022 The devastation of #AustralianBushfies left the Flinders Chase National Park closed to visitors. The soldiers of 1st Armoured Regiment along with our New Zealand Army partners are working hard to clear the roads. #GoodSoldiering #OpBushfireAssist 1st Brigade - Australian Army

17.01.2022 Today marks the 50th anniversary of Operation Hammersley. #OpHammersley began as a routine operation, where #OurPeople from 8th Battalion, Royal Australian Reg...iment, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, a troop from 1st Armoured Regiment and 1 Field Troop, Royal Australian Engineers, were deployed to the foot of the Long Hai Hills, Vietnam, to secure a quarry site. What followed was a costly operation resulting in the loss of 12 men and 59 wounded. We say thank you to those who fought on this operation and we reflect on their bravery and sacrifice. #LestWeForget
17.01.2022 Who would have thought armoured vehicle crewman have the skills to nurse injured wildlife back to health? We're proud to be helping out at the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary - Kangaroo Island, and supporting the wider Kangaroo Island community as a part of #OpBushfireAssist. 1st Armoured Regiment soldiers in the V1 Emergency Support Team, supported by members from 1st Combat Engineer Regiment and New Zealand Army have also been working to clear key roads in the Flinders Chase National Park. This will assist in opening these roads to tourism to help with the Island's recovery from the bushfires. #AustralianFires #GoodSoldiering
16.01.2022 At the start of 2018, SSM B SQN, WO2 Clements SC raised the yellow SQN flag over B SQN. Friday marked the occasion for WO2 Clements to lower the flag for the last time. It was the final component of a farewell to an SSM who has dedicated years of service and unquestionable loyalty to the SQN. FACTA NON VERBA.
16.01.2022 CPL James Abbott from 1st Armoured Regiment - Australian Army introduces us to some vision of the hay distribution team on Kangaroo Island in action utilising t...he CH-47 Chinook. 08.01.2022 The Regiment is very fortunate to have such great support from our resident 'Sally Man', Vaughan Agnew. Throughout the year, in barracks or whilst deployed on exercise, Vaughan and his iconic green Landcruiser, aptly designated call sign 'Coffee Pot' has always appeared at just the right time to deliver a hot or cold brew, biscuit, lollies and most importantly a welcoming smile, news from home and an ear for the soldiers to talk about anything and everything. Always an instan...t morale boost to the troops. Vaughan is an essential part of the welfare network for our soldiers and we are lucky to have such a dedicated and passionate member of the Salvation Army who also provides so much to our local Adelaide community. Today, B Squadron wanted to show their admiration and appreciation for the support Vaughan has provided the tank squadron this year. B Squadron presented Vaughan with a $1000 donation to help with keeping his supplies stocked up along with a certificate of appreciation. Thank you Sally Man. FACTA NON VERBA #PARATUS
08.01.2022 Members from 1st Armoured Regiment competed in a Regimental Sports Day on Monday 25th November, pitching SQN against SQN. They played touch football, soccer and ultimate frisbee, with fierce competition on all fronts. The day was ultimately won by C Squadron after some excellent displays from all involved.
06.01.2022 Farewell to the 2nd Engineer Regiment New Zealand Army contingent attached to the 1st Armoured Regiment - Australian Army Emergency Support Force. 05.01.2022 Last week, the Regiment had a visit from the President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia, Mr John Signoriello. Along with some senior executives from his team, they provided PME to our officers about the International automotive industry, the world economy, leadership and the strength of people within an organisation. It was great to hear a different perspective on the importance of people being the competitive advantage within an organisation. This is definetly the case in 1st Armoured Regiment! #PME #Paratus
03.01.2022 Members of the 1st Armoured Regiment have spent the last week conducting enhanced regional engagement in the South West Pacific. As part of the embarked force aboard HMAS Adelaide, the members of the Regiment conducted Humanitarian and Disaster Relief training with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF). An important outcome of this engagement exercise has been lasting friendships with our partners in the South West Pacific. Well done to the team lead by LT Clayfield. G...ood soldiering. #paratus #1ArmdRegt #1BDE
03.01.2022 After 12 years of dedicated service to the 1st Armoured Regiment Paula Sutton is leaving the unit. She’s headed back to Darwin to become the BDE Comd’s Executive Assistant. We wish you a safe journey, and all the best for your new position, and we’ll be sure to drop by when in Robertson Bks! Your efforts are going to be missed, along with your morning tea’s!

01.01.2022 Last post from B SQN for 2019. A few weeks ago, soon after the 2019 Cambrai parade, B SQN paused to present some SQN internal awards and bid farewell to its outgoing SSM, WO2 'Clemo' Clements, along with those members posting out. Of particular note, was the presentation of the 'Cupka Cup' for best Troop CPL. Not presented for some time due to changes in the Regiment's structure, the OC and SSM had approval to retain this prestigious award in B SQN and continue it's fine trad...ition of recognising the invaluable contribution the junior NCO brings to the team. This year, the Cupka Cup was awarded to CPL Dean Tana. A worthy recipient for his tireless effort to support the SQN throughout a demanding year. CPL Tom Cupka was tragically killed in 2004. One of the most respected, well known and all round great characters of the Regt in that period, Tom is always remembered and sadly missed. The OC and SSM had the privilege of serving with Tom as fellow JNCOs and it was an absolute honour to present this award again. To all members of this fine Regiment past and current serving, along with your families, have a safe Christmas and a rewarding New Year. OC B Squadron PARATUS
01.01.2022 This morning B SQN conducted a parade in order to carry out their first promotion of the calendar year.
