23.01.2022 marking National Apology Day > Daisy Kadibil talks about her escape along the rabbit-proof fence, 2009 Daisy Kadibil was a small child when she was taken away ...from her family as part of the Stolen Generations. She and her sisters, Molly and Gracie, used the rabbit-proof fence to find their way back home to Jigalong from Moore River Native Settlement north of Perth, a journey of about 1600 kilometres. Mollys daughter, Doris Pilkington (Nugi Garimara), wrote Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence (1996) after several years of interviewing her mother and Aunt Daisy. The book was later made into Phillip Noyces award-winning film Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002). See more

Personal stories of how art nurtures our wellbeing were displayed with the art work. Thankyou to Boab Health for this new event being added to the Mental Health week Calendar.

22.01.2022 Families and Friends joined clients form Milliya Rumurra last thursday for a wonderful morning at Town Beach celebrating Mental Heath Day ., There was a lot of smiles and colour as 40 t-towels and assorted singlets were tye-dyed What an amazing community...were all in this together..

"Often people who have drug and alcohol issues have considerable other issues, housing instability..., trauma, family violence issues, they may have no transport no drivers license," he said. "The Government should be focussing on enabling them to find work through providing them access to available sufficient treatment which is not there at the minute and definitely not there in those areas of low-socio economic status. "Putting more treatment into those places would get more people into employment than drug testing."
