25.01.2022 Good morning! Ive had to temporarily turn off the appointment request function for on my fb page as Im getting inundated with requests that look available but unfortunately are already booked. As much as I love meeting new faces, Ive no appointments available until very late in September/ early October with limited availability on Saturdays especially into October. ... Pic of a stunning fur cape that I made recently for Natalies vow renewal. I love working on special projects like these.

25.01.2022 I’m excited to be involved in the Evedon Lakeside Retreat Wedding Showcase next month. It’s always fun to meet vendors and chat with couples about their plans for their big day. https://fb.me/e/4PYZM0qC7

24.01.2022 Something Ive adopted into my work life is the wrist pin cushion. Its so convenient and comfortable and I almost always have pins on hand.... unless Im busy talking and run out! Ive had so many lovely people tell me they have taken up sewing so I ordered a bunch which are now available to all of you!! A fabulous price of $10 each, Ive got 2 on rotation and they are great quality. ... They dont send your pins blunt either! Message me if you would like one put aside for you. Xx

24.01.2022 A quick update from the Making Room for Christmas and New Year as appointments are being booked out well in advance at the moment. Please let me know if you need an appointment ASAP.

23.01.2022 The second half of 2020 is shaping up to be busy for made to measure. I love this creative process! Im going to make an effort to pin myself less for the rest of the year so much of the sewing process I do unconsciously out of habit but after putting in quite a few sleeves lately, Im making a point to change my pinning habit and will be putting pins in like this so my hands dont hate me! Its so much less painful!

23.01.2022 I may be inflicting Christmas carols upon any making room visitors this morning! Sorry not sorry

22.01.2022 I’m so excited to share these photos with you! I’ve been a bit slack on pics lately as I’ve been so busy with appointments and sewing away - a bit like nemo ‘just keep sewing, just keep sewing...’ This is Emily and her handsome hubby!... We started working on Emily’s gown early last year and it’s been such a pleasure. It was custom design with a sunray pleated skirt, pleated by a local company in Perth! Yay for WA suppliers! These pictures literally made my heart sing. Best ever message to wake up to. Custom designed gown, made to measure by me Raw silk masks (gifted to Emily so she can tell her grandchildren ‘back in my day, that covid-19...’) Emily’s wedding wasn’t during lockdown but it made a big impact on the lead up to her celebrations. Emily, I wish you both all the best that married life can bring! #barefootbridal #bunburyweddingprofessionals #bunburyartgallery #lightthelovephotographyboutique #lovemyjob #southwestwaweddings #belindawilliamsdressmaker

22.01.2022 Im looking forward to welcome clients to this new entry today! Still work to be done but its so much better than it was. Note to self: always wear a hat and drink plenty of water even when soaking in that beautiful winter sunshine! Feeling much better today

21.01.2022 A few months ago I met a lovely lady who wanted a dress made for her Grandsons wedding. She bought with her a picture fit inspo & a bag of fabric & we got started. Then we went into isolation....... Then she called and said oh my gosh the wedding is in 20 days, can you do it?. Yes! Of course I can! I love how this dress turned out. Its so lux and stylish but incredibly simple as well.

21.01.2022 Omg! I love year 12 projects like these - amazing creativity

20.01.2022 2020! Just like that, it’s almost over. In some ways the longest year ever, in others, the slowest. ... Happy new year to all my amazing clients, past, present and future! As madly as this year ended, I’m so fortunate to have had so many amazing people come to the making room this year. Thankyou all for bringing so many wonderful projects my way

20.01.2022 Its all about the lurrvveee.... A bit of a back story. This is Shenaes great grandmothers wedding gown. We restored it and restyled it while keeping it as original as possible, being aware that some areas were not repairable as others - thus the open back. ... I didnt want to cut anything if I could avoid it to be honest! We made an undergarment set as you may have seen on previous pics. And I love how it came together. When this is all over these guys will celebrate with their family at a brunch reception. Seriously I might crash it cause champagne and croissants.... book me in! Such a great idea! Congratulations on your marriage Shenae, Im so happy for you! I wish you both all the best that married life can bring xx

19.01.2022 A bit of a sneak peek for all of you, so much work goes into made to measure and I just love it. Getting into the final details for these beauties and prepping to get the accessories ordered. Looking forward to a huge Thursday in Perth, getting lots done, and searching for fabric for new clients.

19.01.2022 The things we do... School jumpers! These should have been done a month ago.... nothing like seeing freezing kids going to school to ramp up the urgency. Not for lack of trying! Insert sounds of mum can I help? Mum can we make me a dress? Mum my fairy house needs new blankets. Mum can we make aprons? Mum Im bored.... anyone with me? ... Girls are back to school so until I reopen for fittings, its great to be able to spread job this out and smash through it.

19.01.2022 Righti-o! Looks like we are back in business! Im looking forward to meeting new people and catching up with some familiar faces in the next few months. Now that so many small businesses are getting back to a new normal, here are a few reminders of how to throw some support our way xx

19.01.2022 I’m so grateful to all my clients this year! I’m taking an extended break this year to get myself back on track and to spend some time with my family. All appointments for January are already booked and February is looking quite busy already. If you have event in March please book in early to avoid disappointment.... There may be a delay to reply to messages over the holiday period, and I appreciate your patience.

18.01.2022 This is something I’ve been meaning to share since October last year. It was such a pleasure to create Evelyns gown, jumpsuit and jacket. These are few sneak peaks of Evelyns gown. Every piece of lace was hand dyed then beaded. ... This is one of those gowns I will be proud of forever! Keep an eye out - I’ll share more pics next week!

17.01.2022 A beautiful, sunshiny morning in the studio today This whole back to work thing is a bit of a rude shock to the system but its been lovely meeting some new brides and their tribes over the last couple of days.

16.01.2022 Loving that HRH Princess B wore her grandmothers dress and tiara! She looks fabulous!

16.01.2022 Eek! More bride spam! 15.01.2022 Ok ladies, a quick update from the Making Room! I have zero - 0 availability for made to measure for 2020. Made to measure is a hugely creative process which is why it is limited availability. If you are getting married in September, October or November, and you are saying in your mind Im getting Belinda to do my alterations please book in! ... I cannot guarantee you a Saturday appointment and have very little evening availability due to family commitments. Please consider a weekday appointment. Many Saturdays are already fully booked. 14.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for their patience with my ridiculously slow replies to messages over the holidays and particularly the last weekend! Its been a busy few days celebrating Miss oh so close to 10s birthday... thankfully the festivities are almost ended! Back to normal now! Looking forward to getting back into the studio

14.01.2022 A great big congratulations to these love birds who recently eloped down south! Wishing you both all the best xxx Thanks Lauren for bringing me your gown to adjust, its so great to see new designs and fabrics and you look stunning!

13.01.2022 Using heirloom sewing techniques to create a beautiful undergarment for an heirloom gown. Again, made to measure

12.01.2022 Ill be back in The Making Room on Monday!

12.01.2022 I often get asked what is involved in a made to measure project. Its like asking how long is a piece of string and how many colours does it come in Every project is different and often it evolves over a few fittings.... This was a reasonably simple project however it needed to be designed to suit a coordinating dress which was asymmetrical. So it took some playing. I started out draping a design in paper over the coordinating dress which then lead to pattern making, toile making and finally the actual cape. The cape is made from silk satin courtesy of Tessuti fabrics, the button is custom made locally.

10.01.2022 Working with my clients on made to measure gowns is a beautiful collaboration of their inspiration paired with my skills & technical knowledge. I love the creative process. I currently have clients booked until October 2021, which is super exciting!... I have a couple of spaces left for ball gowns for 2021 for those girls who are interested in having a one of a kind gown made for their ball. The second half of 2020 is giving us the opportunity to celebrate and October/ November is already heavily booked, so if please book in ASAP.

09.01.2022 Eek!! So in love with these pics of Emily and Luke and her bridal party! Just stunning work Lauren Wedding gown Made to Measure - by me!

09.01.2022 When #1 daughter shared this on her insta, I knew it was exactly how I wanted to reach out on Are you ok day 2020 Post courtesy of Jacqueline Whitney - Thankyou for these perfect words https://www.instagram.com/p/CE76FFoDsWa/?igshid=cyqgm6037bns

08.01.2022 Current working conditions in the studio. The things I could do with a solid hour! Plodding my way through a few projects but seriously.... the pain is real!

07.01.2022 Love seeing my brides pop up through local photographers and from what I have heard (and can see!!) this photographer is amazing!

07.01.2022 So if you follow my page you might remember the pink fur cape I posted a few weeks ago. It was for this gorgeous Queen. I met Natalie through her beautiful daughter & bride to be Claudia (who also happens to be a bit labradoodle obsessed like me!) to work on Claudias wedding gown alterations. ... Little did these guys know, Claudias dad, the King in this photo, had a very painful and aggressive form of cancer. Once diagnosed, Andy was determined to show Natalie how much he loved her, and with Claudia as his trusty helper, they pulled together an amazing vow renewal ceremony. Natalies bouquet had a white rose for every year they were married. Seriously, and Im not saying this to be funny but Ive never had so many inappropriate hugs through fittings (thanks post Covid-19) with a client as she told me their story. Natalie sent me this photo earlier this week while looking for pics for Andys funeral as he sadly passed away and Im so glad that she did. I wanted to share this so that people remember to take a moment to stop and appreciate their loved ones xx

05.01.2022 Ok so this is be UK article. So when it says British subconsciously swap it for Aussie Duchess satin is still the fabric to look out for which Ive started to see introduced in some of my early 2020 brides so lace is still important but satin is popping up.... Pinterest is going to go nuts for some of these ideas. FYI if you plant trees and have a tarot reader at your wedding I might crash it Have a great Monday! https://www.hitched.co.uk//organising/2021-wedding-trends/

05.01.2022 Anyone else see things out n about and just need to stop and appreciate them? This time out has given me time to do this which has been lovely. I think this leaf looks like lace in nature... what random photos have you taken in the last few months, things that you might not have had time to appreciate previously?... Feel free to share in the comments :)

04.01.2022 Studio is open today for appointments Getting my head into work zone and looking forward to some inspiring projects coming my way!

04.01.2022 So anyone who has visited me has probably had to listen to me ramble on about something random from a podcast I’ve listened to. This is one I’d like to recommend for anyone interested in sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry. I’ve just started Listening but check it out! ... https://podcasts.apple.com//podcast/the-quic/id1536362879

04.01.2022 If you are looking for an evening gown, be sure to check out Sassy Divas IN BUNBURY!! Yes! Local! Look at the size of this range!

04.01.2022 Ok so you might be asking, if I want my wedding gown made to measure, how does that even work? This is what your second appointment would look like. At your first appointment you share with me all your design inspiration and we sketch your design. You will get an initial quote from this consultation.... Then you send me off to source fabrics. Which I love!! Then I bring them back and set this up. You can touch them and play with draping them and once you have selected your fabric I can give you a final quote. After this we start the fitting process. Its a very creative process which you are completely involved with. This is your gown and your day. Im just working with you to bring your dream gown to life.

03.01.2022 Im sad to say but Im viscose/ rayon. Of all fabrics Its my daughters birthday today and it has thrown me a curve ball with this 10 people business! Whats wrong with shouting happy birthday as you drive past anyway?! ... So. Completely. Unprepared. What are you??

02.01.2022 Im not sure if Spud aka my apprentice is looking at himself, looking at me or thinks he has a friend in the mirror in the studio but he often assumes this position when I am working in the evening weirdo!

02.01.2022 Anyone else do a happy dance yesterday? I received a stack of messages but being Mothers Day, I was being present with my family so I hope you understand the delay in reply. Im madly working to finish a large order of bulk winter jumpers and will not be opening for fittings until June 2nd as the studio is not looking its normal self. Thankyou for your patience! ... So please let me know your plans and lets get organised! Existing Made to Measure clients, I will be in touch soon to update your fitting schedules. Cant wait to hear how you have been!

02.01.2022 Im excited to share these photos from Sami & Taviss wedding! When restrictions were raised and these guys were able to include the magic 20 people in their celebrations, Sami reached out and we started her alterations. Yes there is a baby bump under there and this gown was perfect by all accounts. ... Im so happy that these guys had their special day! The smiles on their faces make it clear that it was worth the wait Congratulations Sami! I wish you and your family all the best for your future xx
