25.01.2022 Adori’s halfway through creating the Term 2 Resource packs for our Juniors We may not be able to meet in person, but we’re going for a hands-on approach to virtual Guiding

24.01.2022 Last night our Juniors enjoyed a variety of activities. During patrol time the girls learnt how to build a fire and use a compass to make their way through a treasure hunt. They also worked on their Wheels Badge, with all girls completing Wheel Fitness with Amarina (from Total Fit Gym) and then either learning about wheelchair etiquette or completing a wheel Lego challenge.

23.01.2022 Gabriel, our District Support Team Secretary joined me today at a Grants Writing Workshop hosted by the Ipswich City Council. It was very interesting and insightful. Grants can be used for big things such as repainting the hut and bathroom extentions through to small things like a perminate campfire pit and fixing the fence. We both came away very inspired and a list of projects as long as our arm..... Now to work out what to go for first as our warm up...

22.01.2022 70 Girls from around Moogerah Region celebrated World Thinking Day, hosted by 1st Ipswich Guides. It was a fantastic day of learning and fun Our quote of the day.... Diversity is being invited to the party, INCLUSION is being asked to dance - Verna Myers

19.01.2022 The official word has come from Queensland Girl Guides State Office. As of 15.3.20, all face-to-face meetings are to be conducted virtually, for the foreseeable future. This means that our regular Monday and Thursday night meetings at the Guide hut are moving to an online platform. During this transition, we will not be taking any new visitors at this stage. If you have any questions in the meantime or would like to read through our Welcome Pack, please email our District Manager Julia Stewart at [email protected] All current Guides of 1st Ipswich should have received an email from their Unit Leader. Please check these emails as they contain information of high importance.

19.01.2022 These holidays Gail got to travel to the wonderful New Zealand - safe to say she enjoyed her time there. She got to visit Dunedin Eco Sanctuary, Wellington she survived Mountain Trolls, Hiked her way round Hobbiton (and shared a drink with my Nephew), and toured Auckland Zoo where she made new friends of some Scouts from North Otage (Bill the bus driver was little confused). This year there will be a booking book kept at the hut for girls to be able to book Gail to go on holiday with them - please make sure you use it as soon as you know your dates to avoid disappointment.

17.01.2022 Tonight our Juniors finished working towards their Anzac Day Badge. They were great listeners to our Guest Speaker, Buggoo, who told us all about her roll in the Defence Force, why Anzac Day was important and answered the girls (many) questions. The girls then role played as Engineers and built Navy Ships and Planes for our Defence Force, with only 1 ship sinking! It was wonderful to see their smiling faces and we can't wait for our (secret) Mother's Day craft night next week

16.01.2022 This Thursday night's AGM POSTPONED due to us not being allowed to hold face to face meetings. Once we get a handle on the online meetings we may try and hold a virtual meeting - so in the mean time - watch this space
