24.01.2022 Isolation Challenge #6: ANZAC Day Remembrance Flame If you have a spare half an hour this afternoon, make your own ANZAC Day Remembrance Flame. All you need is a clean jar, scissors, glue and the poppy template printout. Cut out the poppys, glue them around your jar then light a candle inside the jar. Decorate the jar as much as you want. Tyabb Scout Group also encourages everyone to participate in #LightUpTheDawn. Just before 6am Saturday morning stand on your driveway, porc...h, or balcony, with your Remembrance Flame and tune into ABC Radio who is broadcasting the Last Post and minutes silence at 6am. #LestWeForget #ANZACDay2020

19.01.2022 Isolation Challenge #3: Backyard Camping! Unfortunately due to the coronavirus, camping is just not possible these school holidays. So instead, why not setup the tent in the backyard and have a Backyard Camping experience these holidays. Do you prefer a stretcher or mattress? Tent or swag? Doesn't matter what you choose, because camping is ALWAYS fun! Don't you agree?... Here's where a Tyabb Cub, Scout and Venturer camped in their backyard.

16.01.2022 What a gorgeous day for a practice hike! ScOUT & abOUT!! Venturers embarked on our 11km hike in full weight hike pack. Cooked lunch on Jacks Beach & returned all smiles, ready for some rough terrain next time!

These are certainly challenging times for our children who have lost access to their friends, extended family and out-of-school activities. Scouts returns this week for term 2, but with a difference. 09.01.2022 Isolation Challenge #5: Time to Reflect I'm pretty certain that like myself, you may have found these last few weeks have seemed very full on and with so much changing quickly. It has probably left your mind in a bit of spin. So today your challenge is to find a quiet space on your own. Take some paper and a pen. I want you to breath deeply in and out, and let your mind slow down and take in your surroundings. Try to slow your mind through breathing, and once you feel calm in...side, you are to write your thoughts onto paper. After you've written on your piece of paper everything in your mind carefully read each point and have a think about them. If you can come to some sort of answer or calmness about that point, cross it off your list. At the end you probably have a couple you couldn't cross off. Take these points to someone you trust and have a conversation with them about these final points. Sometimes we don't have all the answers. These are greats times to reflect on our thoughts and have conversations about them with people we trust (over video chat for social distancing of course). Good luck. See more

04.01.2022 Isolation Challenge #4: Pictures for Grandparents Today's isolation challenge is for our grandparents. Since we all need to stay isolated and protect our elders from coronavirus, I'm sure they are all missing us greatly. So draw a picture for your grandparents, then get mum or dad to video call them so you can show them your picture and talk to them. Trust me, they'll love it!

It truly is the best time ever to try Scouts. Whilst we have enjoyed our time scout-IN-g, we welcome the return to sc-OUT-ting.
