25.01.2022 To most 343 is just a number. To nearly all firefighters around the world, it is a humbling reminder of the events that took place in New York on this day, 19 y...ears ago. This is because on 9/11, 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters did not finish their shift. The tragedy claimed the lives of 2977 innocent victims, and many continue to be impacted. To date, 227 additional firefighters have died with illnesses related to 9/11, with 27 names recently added to the FDNY World Trade Centre Memorial Wall. FRNSW shares deep and personal connections with FDNY, we will never forget the immediate and ongoing loss they were dealt and continue to deal with, all those affected are in our thoughts today. Our Retained Firefighters were put through their paces with a low visability search for 'victims' inside the trailer. The Hazmat semi will be around town for a few more days ensuring our Permanent Firefighters are also receving the same refresher. It also making nightly trips out to other Retained stations. #216Bathurst #PreparedForAnything #216Retained #BAHazmat

23.01.2022 If you're changing your clocks before going to bed tonight, take a moment to check your smoke alarm. It’s as simple as pressing a button. If your alarm isn't working, replace the battery or the unit. Only working smoke alarms help save lives. Don’t risk it, test it. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

22.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS !!!! 216 Bathurst has a new Relieving Station Officer He comes to us with a wealth of experience and we are really excited to have him onboard. He brings with him nine large animals, lots of little helpers and a very supportive wife. He has a few little quirks that we've noticed. For example he loves a list and always checks it twice, he can squeeze into some very tight spaces and he knows who is naughty and nice. Our Firefighters will need to be on their best b...ehaviour this Christmas. We're so happy to welcome Mr Santa Clause to Bathurst 216 Station and he will make a great addition over the coming week And don't worry we will be sure to let everyone know when Mr Santa Clause is on our Fire Truck. #216Bathurst #FRNSWChristmas2020 #SOSanta #FRNSW

19.01.2022 2020 Brought with it many highs and lows. We started with Bushfires and ended with a Pandemic. Throughout the year the firefighters from Bathurst 216 Station have been #PreparedForAnything. We have spent countless hours training, keeping fit, learning new skills, travelling across the state to respond to incidents and provided our local community with the support they need. We have lost several firefighters who have moved on, gained many new firefighers to replace them and meet lots of members of our local community. We spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year ready to respond to any emergency. #216Bathurst #FRNSW #216Alpha #216Bravo #216Hazmat #PreparedForAnything #BathurstNSW

11.01.2022 A man has been arrested as part of a joint-agency investigation into the alleged importation of illegal firearm parts and drug manufacturing equipment in NSW’s ...Central Tablelands. Last month, the New South Wales Police Force (NSWPF), Australian Border Force (ABF) and United States Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) commenced an investigation after receiving information in relation to the alleged importation of firearm parts and drug manufacturing equipment into Australia from the US, Hong Kong, China, Germany and Japan.
