22.01.2022 BANANA, STRAWBERRY & OATMEAL MUFFINS // These ones are a keeper! Perfect for an on-the-go snack. Pair with Greek, soy or coconut yoghurt for added satisfaction These muffins are dense, moist and delicious. They feature a whole grain base (oats) with healthy fats (almond meal/ground flax) and are a source of fibre! INGREDIENTS (makes 8 muffins):... 1.5 cups oats, finely ground 1/2 cup almond meal 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 eggs 1 flax egg (1 tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water, stir and sit for 5min) 2 extra ripe bananas, mashed 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp milk 1 cup ripe strawberries, chopped into thin slices as pictured optional: 1 tbsp honey/maple syrup. I didn’t find that I needed to add any sweetener because the ripe strawberries + banana were sweet enough! METHOD: 1 Preheat oven to 180 C/320 F and spray olive/coconut oil into a muffin tray (I used a silicone tray which is way easier to clean). 2 In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients (ground oats, almond meal and baking powder). 3 In a second bowl, combine wet ingredients (mashed bananas, eggs, flax egg, 1/4 cup milk). 3 Add wet to dry ingredients, then add extra milk if required. Gently stir through strawberries. 4 Transfer batter to your muffin tray and bake for 15-20 minutes or until a skewer comes clean. Allow to cool, slice and enjoy @thehealthylabel See more

21.01.2022 Dig into this delicious peanut satay tofu bowl for lunch or dinner this week! Super satisfying and full of fibre! INGREDIENTS 1/2 zucchini 1-2 sweet potatoes, cut into small cubes (depending on desired quantity of leftovers)... 450g block classic firm tofu, cubed extra virgin olive oil, to cook 1/4 avocado, sliced Tofu marinade: 3 tbsp peanut butter 2 tbsp sesame oil 1.5 tbsp honey 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp powdered ginger 1/4 cup water optional: chilli powder, to taste METHOD 1 Lightly coat sweet potato with olive oil (can use coconut if wanting neutral flavour for leftovers) and roast at 200 C (390 F) for 25-30 mins. Rotate every 10 mins. 2 In the meantime, mix up your tofu marinade. 3 Press out excess moisture from your tofu with paper towel, then add to a pan on medium heat with olive oil. Rotate every few minutes for approx. 5-10 minutes until browned. 4 Spiralise your zucchini or saute in a pan as described previously. 5 Add marinade once tofu is browned, and stir thoroughly to mix. Stir regularly for 2-3 mins while the marinade thickens. 6 Add all your meal components to your bowl and enjoy! See more

20.01.2022 What to do when you have too many ripe bananas? Make banana bread! Made with a base of only 5 ingredients, this version of the banana bread contains additional healthy fats and a little chocolate instead of sweetener! Adding walnuts provides a source of folate, thiamin, magnesium, potassium, manganese & copper ... INGREDIENTS: three ripe bananas, peeled two eggs 2 cups oats 1/4 cup chocolate chips 1 tsp baking powder 2/3 cup walnuts, chopped METHOD: 1 Place bananas, eggs, oats and baking powder into a strong blender or food processor. Blend until you reach a creamy batter. 2 Add walnuts and chocolate chips and mix through. 3 Fill a lined loaf tin with the mixture and bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 deg C/350 deg F fan forced, until cooked through. 4 Allow to cool and chill it tastes even BETTER after being refrigerated overnight @thehealthylabel See more

10.01.2022 REPOST FROM @sim_sullivan Are you too caught up in it it fits your macros....? It’s pretty amazing that you can eat what you want and still lose weight, but I think we are focusing too much of fat loss and eating what ever we please, and forgetting all the important things:... - Getting enough Micronutrients - Getting enough fibre - Getting enough protein - Getting enough healthy fats - Getting in a variety of colourful fruit and veg Don’t go grabbing a less nutritious snack or meal just because it ‘fits your macros’ and may even have less calories than the more nutritious option!! We NEED to prioritise nutrition and health FIRST!!! See more

09.01.2022 REPOST FROM @sim_sullivan Being educated and having knowledge around foods, their nutritious value and their calories, is SO important! What if you spent all this time eating ‘healthy’ eating all the ‘right foods’, spend hours in the gym, but failed to have that knowledge around food and it’s calories... this could be the reason why you are not achieving results..... This photo shows a piece of bread with peanut butter - on the left it is a portion controlled amount, this doesn’t mean you have to measure/weigh your peanut butter every time you eat it, but weighing it initially and knowing how much 15 or 20 grams looks like, and knowing the calories will forever help you. It will help make changes, sustainable changes, it gives you the knowledge to then have an least some idea of what you are eating, if you are fuelling your body correct for YOU and your goals... If you are getting your minimum protein, carbs and fats each day which ISN’T just important for fat loss, it is important for overall health!! The photo on the right, looks similar to the amount of peanut butter but has been mindlessly slapped on the piece of bread making it an extra 120 calories... Imagine if you did this with all your foods and meals, the nutrients you could be lacking and the calories you could be OVER or UNDER consuming... I am not saying everyone has to or should track their foods, or always track... however educating yourself and doing so even for a couple of months will give you the tools and knowledge for life! 08.01.2022 Looking for a sweet treat to add to your weekly baking rotation? Look no further than this delicious Choc Chip Banana Baked Oatmeal Slice It’s sweet, nutty and totally more-ish, with plenty of whole grain goodness from the oats and healthy fats from the flax! You could serve it with sliced banana, nut butter, shredded coconut or chia jam. Plus you are welcome to try any add-ins you like, such as dried fruit, shredded coconut or other chopped nuts.... INGREDIENTS (makes 9 serves): 2 1/2 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup ground flax seed 1 cup chopped walnuts 4 small ripe bananas, mashed (1.5 cups) 1/3 cup liquid sweetener (honey, maple syrup) 1 1/2 cups milk (I used almond) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp sea salt 3/4 tsp cinnamon (optional) 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (optional) METHOD: 1 Combine the dry ingredients (oats, ground flax and 2/3 of the walnuts) in a large mixing bowl. 2 In a second mixing bowl, combine the wet ingredients (mashed banana, honey/maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla, salt and cinnamon). 3 Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir to combine. 01.01.2022 REPOST FROM @sim_sullivan Social media has gone wild with promoting flexible dieting, but forgetting about HEALTH.... going crazy over ‘if it fits your macros’, but forgetting about micronutrients! Only follow accounts who are qualified and accredited, don’t just do what anyone says does because - they look good so they must know what they are doing. Get educated through the right people, knowledge is power!!! ... Think balance always, don’t fear eating a less nutritious meal, but don’t choose a less nutritious meal because it will keep your calories low... Yes this cheeseburger is lower in calories and tastes delish, however if you opted for this most days as it is the lower calorie option, you’re going to run into some issues... You need your micronutrients, keep your diet 20% less nutritious processed foods!! Get educated by the right people, invest in a professional to learn about nutrition and how to best eat for YOUR body! See more
