05.01.2022 West Arnhem Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Daniel Findley says it is an exciting time in Jabiru as Council begins to deliver beautification projects within the town. The first project to get under way is improvements of the Town Plaza, including a refresh of current paintwork and garden beds, and this has commenced this week! Funded by the Northern Territory Government and Director of National Parks, WARC will be rolling out specific beautification works over the ne...xt 6 months which will support local tourism and enhance the visitor experience as Jabiru transitions to a tourism economy. Just as importantly, the project ideas have come from the community itself. Working closely with the community and major stakeholders, WARC recently provided a platform for local residents to have their say about possible future projects in Jabiru, with multiple community info sessions and an online questionnaire. As a result of the consultation, WARC received an overwhelming response from the community with a huge number of public submissions. Out of more than 120 submissions from the community, more than 70 rated these as the top two beautification projects: - Town Plaza beautification - new signage and way finding throughout town in English and Kunwinjku language, including audio, and a new ‘Welcome to Jabiru’ sign Read full story here -https://www.westarnhem.nt.gov.au//excitement-jabiru-beauti
