15.01.2022 Urine not just a regular clean These carpets looked heavily soiled but without the correct tools it would be difficult to know what the cause was and how to treat it correctly. With urine is mostly about treating what the eye alone can’t see and requires a fair bit more than a normal clean! Contrary to popular belief, urine is not sterile. Uric salts provide the perfect breeding ground for many kinds of microorganisms. Urine equals uric acid along with enzymes, cholesterol, ...urea and other chemicals dependant on the pets diet. It is slightly acid but as it dries it be comes an alkaline which can damage certain types of carpet fibre if left there. The offending odour becomes stronger with humid conditions or when the carpet is wet. Since uric acid largely is not water soluble a regular clean will do more harm than good by spreading the urine and odour throughout the carpet. 13.01.2022 Beetroot juice spill on a lounge suite We were called to a job this week where someone had a slight accident on their new cream coach with a beetroot health drink. Moral of the story is - don’t fall asleep with a glass of beetroot juice in your hand, but life happens.
