25.01.2022 Fire and Rescue 304 Gosford Firefighters and Rescue Operators raising awareness of men’s health throughout MOVEMBER... Many Central Coast residents are not aware that professional firefighters are at a significantly higher risk than the general population of developing a range of life threatening cancers. This is particular true of Central Coast Firefighters... many of our mates have had battles with cancer due to many of them serving the community for over 20 years and atten...ding many hazardous incidents. This is why firefighters at 304 Gosford are again getting on board to raise awareness and support for the global men’s health initiative Movember Australia. Over the coming weeks you will see many of us growing some truly disgraceful moustaches like Firefighter Rob Hansen who has had his own battle with cancer and is now a tireless advocate for men’s health and well-being. We encourage all Central Coast Men to be brave, get to the doctor and get checked out... yes it can be a little unpleasant... but way better than fighting for your life because a cancer wasn’t picked up early. For more information on Movember go to... https://au.movember.com If you would like to support Rob’s fund raising efforts go to... https://au.movember.com/team/2254018 #movember #menshealthawareness #mentalhealth #preparedforanything #fbeu

25.01.2022 This is the new and improved emergency + app. It provides all emergency services with your exact location to within a 3x3 metre square. This is extremely helpful to all Central Coast Fire and Rescue NSW Stations to help locate you quickly... this is particularly helpful on roads like the M1, in National Parks and in county areas. Please download it toady Coasties. ... It could save your life. #preparedforanything

22.01.2022 Some great advice from Assistant Commission FRNSW Trent Curtain. Are you visiting elderly family and friends on the Central Coast over the holidays? Give them the gift of improved home fire safety by testing their smoke alarms with them. The risk of a fatal fire in the home is halved when we have working smoke alarms.... 13.01.2022 If you're changing your clocks before going to bed tonight, take a moment to check your smoke alarm. It’s as simple as pressing a button. If your alarm isn't w...orking, replace the battery or the unit. Only working smoke alarms help save lives. Don’t risk it, test it. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

10.01.2022 The New Australian Warning System by AFAC December 2, 2020... www.afac.com.au The New Australian Warning System is a new national approach to information and warnings for hazards like bushfire, flood, storm, cyclone, extreme heat and severe weather. The New Australian Warning System has been designed based on feedback and research across the country and aims to deliver a more consistent approach to emergency warnings across jurisdictions. It uses a nationally consistent set of icons to show incidents on websites and apps, supported by calls to action. There are three warning levels: Advice (Yellow) An incident has started. There is no immediate danger. Stay up to date in case the situation changes. Watch and Act (Orange) There is a heightened level of threat. Conditions are changing and you need to start taking action now to protect you and your family. Emergency Warning (Red) An Emergency Warning is the highest level of warning. You may be in danger and need to take action immediately. Any delay now puts your life at risk. Up until now there has been different warning systems for different hazard types across Australia. The new Australian Warning System aims to provide consistent warnings to Australian communities so that people know what to do when they see a warning level. https://youtu.be/0GKR15_XVfE
