25.01.2022 MORPETH & DUNGOG- Last week both of our services dressed up in their wildest socks and most colourful, crazy hair and helped to raise money for The Kids Cancer Project. From Wednesday, we also held a Cupcakes 4 a Cure fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards this incredibly important cause. Between both of our centres, we raised a huge amount of $700!!! We would like to thank all of our staff, children and families for baking, buying and donating to this cause. To the business that donated money and to Rachel at Just a Baking Mumma for donating her delicious cupcakes, we say thankyou!

21.01.2022 DUNGOG POST- Another wonderful day of Book Week with so many friends and educators dressed up. With 2 more days left, we can’t wait to see what other fun and fabulous costumes our friends will surprise us with!

18.01.2022 Wishing all of our beautiful Joey's children and their families a very Happy Easter. We hope you have a lovely time celebrating. Stay Home, Stay Safe!

17.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators Day, a day where we recognise and celebrate the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. Today we are acknowledging and celebrating our amazing teams of educators at our Dungog and Morpeth Centre’s. This year has been particularly challenging and at times stressful and I am so incredibly appreciative for the extra e...ffort our educators have put into out of the ordinary tasks such as creating at home learning packs, the multiple changes to Centre practices and procedures and the massive amounts of extra cleaning, all the while ensuring that every other aspect of their huge role was being completed. Thankyou for everything that you do. We think that you are pretty amazing and are incredibly proud to call you Joey’s educators.

17.01.2022 Today we explored blood components, kidney function and more with children at Joeys Pre-School & Early Learning Centre, Morpeth. This is part of a 5-week inc...ursion series we're running for this centre. We completed another incursion series here earlier in the year and always receive an enthusiastic response from the children and educators . Message us or email [email protected] to enquire about a 2021 interactive STEM incursion for your preschool or ELC. #curiouscubsnewcastle #preschoolscience #preschoolstem #stemincursions #scienceincursions See more

16.01.2022 DUNGOG POST- Today is day 1 of Book Week and we are off to a fabulous start! With so many of our friends dressing up & all of our teachers, it makes the day so much more fun for everyone. Although some friends were confused with Danielle’s Little Red Riding Hood dress up, asking her Danielle, where’s your costume? We will be dressing up for the rest of the week, so please feel free to bring your children in their favourite costumes! If you do forget, we have plenty of dress ups here at Joeys so don’t worry too much!

11.01.2022 DUNGOG POST- We would just like to say Happy Early Childhood Educators Day to all of our wonderful staff at Joeys. Although we appreciate them everyday, today is an extra special day to recognise all of the hard work that they do! To our Joeys team and all of the Educators across the country, Happy Educators Day! Huge thanks also to Rach at Just A Baking Mumma and the team at Vacy General Store for our beautiful morning tea treats!

07.01.2022 DUNGOG POST- Today our Wise Wombat friends enjoyed a trip to the Joeys home cinema. They lined up patiently as attendant Claudia asked which movie are you here to see today and would you like any food or beverages. Coincidently, all of our friends came to watch Frozen and all felt like water and popcorn! The children loved collecting their tickets and finding a nice comfy seat in the cinema where they sat for frozen! What a beautiful, fun day we all had!

04.01.2022 Morpeth Post Our clever kind Koalas (nursery room) made a delicious afternoon tea with fresh mulberries straight from our back garden!! Over 2 days they followed these simple steps: 1- pick the berries 2-using ziplock bags, squeezing the berries to make a purée ... 3- add into simple cake mix 4- cook and decorate as you like See more

04.01.2022 Happy Easter from Joeys Dungog!

03.01.2022 DUNGOG POST- We’ve had a very busy week at Dungog with lots of changes happening next door. Our fencing was completed first, giving the children a beautiful view of our new block. Next, our cubby house and veggie gardens were moved into position to create some beautiful play spaces for the children. A pad has been flattened & is now almost ready for our chicken coop to arrive and the posts for our shade sail have been put in. We have also planted some beautiful new fruit tre...es including apples and mandarins which will one day create an orchard around our vegetable gardens. The children also assisted in planting some seeds including lettuce, spinach, onion, broccoli and carrot. We hope that by planting our seeds now, we can transfer them over to our vegetable gardens once they’re more established. Whilst we are yet to finalise a completion date for our new yard, we know that each new step brings us closer to enjoying this amazing new space. See more

03.01.2022 DUNGOG POST I am writing to provide you with an update on the progress works we are undertaking next door to expand our outdoor play space. On Wednesday morning our contractors commenced removing the existing 1.8m front boundary and replacing it with a 1.5m fence that better suits the requirements of the centre as well as install a 1.5m colourbond fence along the side boundaries.... Due to a complaint made by someone within the community we had Dungog Shire Council attend the site and place a stop work order on the site until a Development Application and Construction Certificate be granted for the works. Something our contractors, planner and ourselves were not aware was required. Unfortunately due to this we are going to be delayed significantly in our expansion as council have advised that this application process will take an unknown amount of time. We are extremely upset by the events that have taken place this week and feel that the only loser within this situation is the children. We will continue to update you as the process progresses. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly at [email protected]

02.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators day, we thank the wonderful educators at both Morpeth and Dungog services for all their hard work and positive relationships they have built with each and every child-
