18.01.2022 A huge shoutout to the crew at @3DPPETAS who have provided at no cost 100 sets of 3D printed masks and shields for use by our Patient Transport Officers. It is fantastic to see local businesses and groups supporting health care workers across the state. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3DPPETAS/... (Seems our PTOs couldn’t stand still for too long for some serious photos and decided to play around) ***please note the donated PPE is reusable after proper infection control cleaning. The other PPE props used in the photos were expired training stock*** #stjohntas #stjohnambulance #tasmania #firstaid #vollies #volunteers #community #communityservice #savealife #givingback #volunteersrock #covid19 #ppe #3DPPETAS

18.01.2022 It is always wonderful to see St John members across Australia recognised for their dedication. For 65 years Mr John Spencer AM has served St John Ambulance Australia and his community. Recently the Governor-General presented him with the Order of St John Ultra Long Service Medal.... Her Majesty The Queen is the only other person to have been presented the award. As can be seen in the photo John also has a Bailiff Grand Cross of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem (GCStJ), one of five Australians holding that honour. The others are: Professor Mark Compton, AM, Lord Prior of the Order and former Chancellor of the Order in Australia Dr Neil Conn, AO, former Lord Prior of the Order and former Chancellor of the Order in Australia Professor Villis Marshall, AC, former Chancellor of the Order in Australia Professor Emeritus Major General (rtd.) John Pearn, AO, former Surgeon General to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) John Spencer's service began as a St John cadet in 1949. . #stjohntas #stjohnambulance #tasmania #firstaid #vollies #volunteers #community #communityservice #savealife #givingback #volunteersrock

14.01.2022 Our crew is at Wrest Point today for the much-anticipated EDGE - Do It For Dad 2020 abseil for local medical research that has quickly become an iconic event on the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation event calendar, with hundreds of members of the Tasmanian community jumping on board this highly successful fundraiser since its inception in 2013. Assisted by outdoor adventure specialists, Aardvark Adventures, participants will scale 60 metres down the Wrest Point tower ...to raise vital funds for the RHH Research Foundation, an independent entity that invests funds to support local health and medical research right here in Tasmania. Not only will 60 brave thrill seekers be facing their greatest fears by abseiling off the top of Tasmania’s tallest building, they will be contributing to vital local medical research while also having the chance to say thank you and honour a Dad who has been a part of their life or indeed celebrating being a Dad themselves. . #stjohntas #stjohnambulance #tasmania #firstaid #vollies #volunteers #community #communityservice #savealife #givingback #volunteersrock @wrestpoint
