16.01.2022 Hi All, Hope everyone is keeping safe and well. At this time HQ is unable to give a date for the resumption of unit parades/activities. Hopefully with the further easing of restrictions, we may be able to resume before the end of the year.... At this point, I need to look at the structure of 38ACU for 2021. Could cadets please reply with a yes or no, to either this page, msg or txt, with their intention for next year. Please pass this request to those who do not have social media. If you choose to retire from cadets, we can arrange a time for you to return your uniform and equipment. Keep safe and hopefully see you all soon. Capt (AAC) Patricia Crowley
07.01.2022 Cadets are encouraged to complete this survey and have a say in how your organisation can grow and improve.
05.01.2022 UPDATE The Recommencement of AAC activities 1. Due to COVID-19, all face to face AAC activities were ceased in Mar 20. With the relaxation of a number o...f the restrictions within the states and territories, planning has been underway for the resumption of AAC activities. Aligned to the assessment of risk, the CDF has approved the conduct of two AAC pilot activities. The first of these activities is an AFX in the NT, conducted in Darwin and Alice Springs from 5-11 Jul 20. The second is SA AAC Bde's courses camp in Murray Bridge and Adelaide from 11-18 Jul 20. 2. Subject to the outcomes of the pilot activities the AAC may be approved to recommence unit parades from 18 Jul 20. The SA AAC Bde and NT AAC Bn will be required to formally report on the progress of their activities in order to inform Defence on the way forward for ADF Cadet activities. More detail will follow shortly through a Task Order from the National HQ. 3. Recommencement will be dependent upon meeting Defence requirements and COVID-19 restrictions within each state and territory, coupled with the risk mitigation measures that can be put in place at each unit. COMD AAC is the only approving authority for all AAC activities until further notice. At this point and excluding the pilot activities, nothing beyond normal unit parading will be considered before the end of Aug 20, noting that the situation remains fluid. 4. The current situation in Victoria demonstrates the fluid nature of COVID-19 and the fact that one size cannot fit all regarding the recommencement of activities within a program that is dispersed across Australia. As such, not all units will be in a position to recommence depending on their capacity to meet all required preconditions and risk mitigation measures. On-line activities that have been embraced effectively across the progra will continue to be a feature of the program for the foreseeable future. 5. The priority for the AAC program remains the safety of our cadets and volunteers. I want to recognise the great work to date, and the diligence of AAC staff in preparing for the program to resume. CDF approval to recommence ADF cadet activities from 18 Jul 20 is the first critical step in successfully resuming the AAC program. I'm sure this news is as welcome for our ACS and cadets as it is for us at the HQ. The success of recommencement is reliant on all of us fulfilling our responsibilities to follow all restrictions and guidelines to ensure we minimise the risk of contracting COVID-19 and spreading the disease. We must remain vigilant to ensure we do nothing that jeopardizes our national and community responsibilities at this critical time, and we continue to demonstrate our actions and that of Defence as exemplars in the community.
