24.01.2022 The time has come...after four great years, it's time for Caroline and Randall to pursue a new path and our cafe is changing hands. We have met so many wonderful people, many have become friends, and our staff are like family. We will miss everyone, and are so grateful for the amazing support we have received. Thank you, one and all. We would love to see you before we leave, so if you're passing, pop in so we can become an emotional mess!

04.01.2022 Let's do this! Let's bring some colour and amazing art to the walls and paths and empty spaces around town. REJUNEVATE MOOROOLBARK. What would you like to see? ...Where would you like to see it? (permission permitting!) We (Yolande Pickett, partnering with Mooroolbark Traders and Community Group, and Mandy Pickett - surprisingly no relation! - of Art Rangers Network) are putting in a submission to the Victorian State Government under the "Pick My Project" grant round. If we reach the 2nd round you'll get to vote on the project. The proposal is to work WITH the community, not only through consultation of what you'd like but also creating some of the artworks with you under the guidance of professional artists. What do you think? We hope you are excited! Can you imagine what this might do for Mooroolbark? >>> Give the images that you love a LIKE or post images in the comments of amazing public artworks that you've seen elsewhere. Let's get this conversation started!! ~~~ IDEAS ~~~ We'd love to see the back of the shops along the train line covered in beautiful, brightly coloured artworks, such as something like the Dvate's Orange Bellied Parrot (pictured below). The Red Earth Room in Red Earth Community Park would look brilliant covered in a community-created mosiac, such as the amazing pieces Sioux Dollman has created with communities. (You might also recognise her work at the entrance to Melbourne Zoo's Butterfly House or Werribee Open Range Zoo) The front of The Terrace would be fantastic for a large-scale portrait, such as those you see in the Fitzroy Faces project by Juddy Roller Gallery, below. Or like the silo portraits by Guido van Helten! (Another Juddy Roller initiative) Imagine the laneway where you find Coffee For Me Cafe and Catering and Manna Lane - Espresso + Kitchen with the ground painted like the project by Robert Jackson! (see pics) The laneway between Three Beans Cafe & Deli and Bakehouse Boss is another perfect location. There's the giant wall on the side of Coles and the Mooroolbark Library in Hookey Park. And many more walls on shop exteriors...... All just IDEAS. We'd love to hear yours... Now give me a moment to add artist credit and artwork information to each image. :)
