25.01.2022 We love a success story at 4 Paws so we were thrilled to receive some news from Cheryl in Tasmania. Cheryl wrote the following: Bobby was supposed to be a foster dog for me in between jobs. I quickly knew that I could not give him up. He probably should have been called Shadow as he is never far away. He tracks me around the house and lays beside me as I garden. He waits patiently as I swim each morning and follows along the beach as I swim. He loves his toys and will select... his favourite ones each day, often carrying them around for hours. Bobby had a rocky start in life but thanks to 4Paws he came into my life and has been a part of it for the last ten years. As we get old together, I often think that at 4 Paws you give us the chance to rescue a dog but really the dog often rescues us. Thank you for the great work that you do. Cheryl If you have a photo of a pet that rescued you, we'd love to see it! Post them in the comments below.

17.01.2022 Volunteer Profile Meet BEV Number of years volunteering with 4 Paws: 12 years... Volunteer Roles: Vice President, stall organiser, foster carer Current animals: Phoebe (permanent resident dog) A little bit about Bev: Bev is a 4 Paws stalwart whose energy and commitment to 4 Paws inspires those around her. Bev and her husband Tim are familiar sights at any 4 Paws events from setting up and dismantling displays to selling raffle tickets, Bev and Tim have always been there. Bev has fostered many 4 Paws dogs. Her present dog, Phoebe, came to her terrified and neglected. Like everything Bev does, she devoted herself totally to healing Phoebe’s physical and emotional scars. Phoebe now lives a life filled with cuddles and is often seen being pushed around Bev and Tim’s retirement complex in her pram. Without people like Bev (and Tim) 4 Paws could not do the important work they do rescuing animals in need. Did you know that 4 Paws Animal Rescue is 100 % volunteer run and relies solely on fundraising and community grants? 17.01.2022 Prepare yourself for one HUGE does of cuteness........ Introducing Paris & Precious. This adorable pair are not available for adoption, they are part of our 4 Paws Permanent Resident program and we are seeking sponsorship to help with their care.... Paris & Precious are Poodle sisters, born in 2008. When their owner was no longer able to care for them, Paris and Precious were welcomed into the 4 Paws Permanent Resident program. They both received extensive dental treatments and we are now carefully monitoring and managing their ongoing health conditions. Paris (sitting up in photo) has lost her hearing and is prone to ear infections, she has a chronic airway disease, dermatitis and macular degeneration. Precious (lying down in photo) has keratoconjunctivitis sicca, a chronic eye condition that requires prescription eye drops, she also recently underwent major surgery to remove mammary chain tumors and whilst she has recovered well will need further surgery in the coming months. These two are inseparable yet have very different personality traits. Precious is more outgoing, loves cuddle time and being the centre of attention. Paris is a gentle girl, very loving, she stands back and lets her sister get all the attention, instead she loves to play fetch with a ball. Paris has learned hand signals since she lost her hearing. Paris & Precious have settled wonderfully into the home of very experienced carers who will give these girls all the love they need. These beautiful photographs were taken by Kiarna Farr Photography Paris and Precious's required sponsorship is $50 each per month. Learn more about sponsorship on our website www.4pawsanimalrescue.org.au/sponsor-a-4-paws-permanent-res

15.01.2022 * PRINCE HAS BEEN VERY FRIENDLY WITH OTHER DOGS SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN OUR CARE SO HE WOULD BE SUITABLE TO PLACE IN A HOME WITH OTHER DOGS* We need to find a foster carer for Prince (9 yr. old ChihuahuaX Foxie). Prince is very friendly with people but is not desexed. As this may make him a bit bossy we are looking for a home either without other pets or possibly with a quiet calm dog. He is booked in to be desexed next week. Prince weighs about 5.5 kg and has a reputation a...s being an escape artist. The foster home he goes to would need to have good fences. Prince IS NOT toilet trained so he needs to be with someone who is prepared to train him. He is untested with children so would be suited to a home without young children. * Sunshine Coast applicants only please. If you are interested in fostering this lovely little dog please complete a foster application on our website. https://www.4pawsanimalrescue.org.au/* See more

10.01.2022 *****Jasper is not available for adoption, he is a 4 Paws Permanent Resident***** Jasper a handsome seal point Birman was collected from the Pound by one of our volunteers in May 2018, it was estimated he was close to 10 years old. During his first vet consultation it was discovered he had feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) a slow acting virus that interferes with his immune system.... Jasper was in poor condition, he was underweight and had sore eyes. To provide Jasper with the best chance of living a happy life with the virus he was settled into a quiet, stress free home with no others cats. His recurrent eye infection and urinary tract infections are now monitored and treated swiftly. With this supportive medical care Jasper has flourished, he's a really smoochy boy who loves cuddles and he's now living a comfortable life. Jasper will remain with us as a 4 Paws Permanent Resident. Jasper's required monthly sponsorship is $50. Contact us if you'd like to sponsor him You can read more about our sponsorship program over on our website https://www.4pawsanimalrescue.org.au/sponsor-a-4-paws-perma

02.01.2022 We would like to introduce you to 2 of our newest arrivals at 4 Paws. Meet Jake and Lily! This delightful duo are 5 years old. They are the best of friends (not siblings) who have been together since they were puppies. Their foster carer Pauline says that they are gentle loving souls who love walks, cuddles and being with their human. Poor Lily has serious skin problems so they will be with 4 Paws for quite some time while we get on top of that. We will not be considering any adoption applications for Jake and Lily at the moment. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for updates.
