18.01.2022 Mentone Marathon - 9 Mar Congratulations and well done to Friedo, Mark, Pablo and Pat who came second in the Mentone Marathon 4x2.5km on Saturday. In fact they came second to a team using wet suits. So a champion effort for the 3rd year in a row. They had a beautiful day for it in perfect conditions. If you have access to the Orcas Competition Facebook page check-out the YouTube video. Auto-posted from https://orcas.org.au/

06.01.2022 Our fearless team of open water swimmers braved the jellyfish at the Mentone Marathon this weekend. Here's a little video of their adventures. Thanks Mentone Lifesaving Club and Peter Hendriks from SwimWell for organising another great event.

02.01.2022 Knowing how to spot a rip is a skill that far too many get wrong. His is s great article where the emphasis is on how to ‘survive’ a rip. Perhaps the focus should be more on survival techniques and less on spotting danger. What do you think?

01.01.2022 Swimming can give you the confidence to head out a little further and explore more of what our waters have to offer. Here's one of our Orcas on summer holidays a few years back snorkelling with seals.

01.01.2022 Orcas at the MSV-LC: 3 Mar Great to see Victoria, Raf, Chris and Mark at the MSV long course event this afternoon. Chris told me this was the first time he has competed for 30 years. So well done and congratulations to him and all our competitors. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with Emilio and Alan. Emilio was competing in his first ever MSV competition! He was doing some quite good times too. Alan was both officiating and competing. He sends his regards to all.... I have attached a dodgy selfie-shot to this post of the fantastic five.
