22.01.2022 Refresher Series - Shifting fins closer to the nose: There is additional space within the iDisc slot to allow you to move fins a little more to the nose of the board or alternatively down towards the tail. Merely release the fin tab screws and then lever the fins up or down within the slot before re tightening. Shifting your side fins up towards the nose of the board whilst leaving your centre fin in the same position results in a bigger gap between centre and side fins. Th...is tightens up the board, increases its drive and down the line speed and conversely reduces the boards manoeuvrability. If your centre fin is right on the sweet spot (where the board feels most responsive) then you dont need to move it. Otherwise experiment by shifting it a bit up or down and test the result.

20.01.2022 Refresher Series - Decreasing Toe: You can decrease the toe of your side fins by slightly loosening the two side pan head screws that hold the idisc in place and then rotating the fin outwards, away from the nose of the board & more parallel to the rail. Its better to make small incremental one degree changes and then performance test the board until the optimum setting is achieved. ... Decreasing toe generates more drive and speed down the line - this is because the fins are now more forward pointing & parallel with the board. So if you find your board is very easy to do turns with but lacks the ability to track faster down the line (feels a bit sluggish) then try decreasing your fin toe out to the rail. Once youve found the best setting, mark this on your board by placing a dot where the leading edge of the fin meets the board, so you can always return to this position if you experiment further.

01.01.2022 Refresher series - Increasing Splay: You can increase the splay of your side fins simply by switching to a different coloured interdisc, for example from a clear 2 degree idisc to a yellow 4 degree idisc. Increasing splay will make your board more responsive to turns. Bottom turns and re-entries will be quicker and faster. ... So if you find that your board has heaps of down the line speed but turning is too slow or drawn out, a splay increase will make an immediate difference.
