23.01.2022 Members from 5 CSSB and 8 CSSB have force concentrated together as CSSB Task Group as part of Operation Bushfire Assist 19/20. Our team is in the community providing much needed support to our volunteer RFS and community members.

23.01.2022 The CO and RSM have just returned from a visit to CSST South in Bega and CSST 2 in HMAS Albatross / Batemans Bay. It was great to see our soldiers in the community providing support to the rebuilding effort. So proud of the efforts of the members of CSSB TG. Please see attached photos of our soldiers in the community.

14.01.2022 Over the last four days, 5 CSSB has delivered Army First Aid training to 16 soldiers from across 5 Brigade. During 2019 5 CSSB delivered formal health training to 224 Army members, ensuring soldiers from All Corps are capable and ready to deliver care to those in need. 5th Brigade - Australian Army

13.01.2022 13 Jan 2020. SGT Smith and SGT Hennessey attended a council meeting in Holbrook and developed a list of over 60 properties requiring potable water. Holbrook is anticipating rain for the remained of the week. The SGT’s educated the community on the importance of redirecting their drain pipes from water tanks to avoid ash and other debris contaminating their recently supplied water.... 14 Jan 20. SGT Smith and SGT Hennessey conducted a recon of the properties to ensure good TTW mobility. These local farmers recently bought a MACK Dump from pickles. SGT Smith gave them a Soldiers 5 on the vehicle and they were very appreciative.

12.01.2022 5 CSSB competed in the 5 Brigade Military Skills Competition this weekend. Our team consisted of members from Transport Squadron, Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Company, Health Company and Logistics Company. Our team took part in various stands, from water based military activities, caring for battle casualties to digging in throughout Saturday night to the early hours of Sunday morning. Our members performed extremely well and should be commended by eac...h other. We are thankful to our friends and families who continue to support and release their family members to support our Army Reserves. Presentations and celebrations commenced at the Maxwell Club on Sunday afternoon. Congratulations to 2nd/17th Battalion, the Royal New South Wales Regiment - Australian Army who were announced the winning team from 5 Brigade Military Skills Competition and were presented the trophy by 5th Brigade Commander. 12.01.2022 Members of 5 & 8 CSSB now CSSB TG offload donations from the community at Narooma to clear more space at the Narooma Evacuation Centre. PTE Stephen Macvean, PTE Hubert Zhang and PTE Alvos. CAPT Alexander Murphy and PTE Stephen Macvean from 8 CSSB supporting the work of St John's Ambulance at the Narooma Evacuation Centre.

08.01.2022 Images of CSST 1 drivers (PTE ASQUITH, PTE SMITH, PTE PONEPASUET) on task from 12 Jan to 13 Jan 20. They worked with RFS member and ex ARA MAJ Nick Shepley to disassemble Portable Automatic Weather Stations (PAWS) across North Sydney and up to Maitland. RFS provided accommodation in Hawkesbury Fire Control Centre overnight and task continued the following day.... Nick Shepley was very pleased with the enthusiasm and professionalism of our drivers and personally requested their assistance in any future PAWS tasks. 03.01.2022 5 CSSB recently conducted Adventure Training at HMAS Creswell in Jervis Bay. The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) provided 5 CSSB with access to their training facilities where a range of activities from firefighting, ship damage control, navy leadership activities, over water obstacle courses and rock climbing were conducted. Saturday evening consisted of a Minute to Win it games night. Our Padre provided a service on the Sunday at the chapel at HMAS Albatross to conclude our wee...kend. The RAN provided generous staff who devoted their weekend to ensure our activities were a success. Our soldiers and officers perspectives were broadened with exposure to these unfamiliar military activities, allowing our members to build a stronger relationships with their cohort in the work environment. 5 CSSB is grateful for the experience RAN provided us at HMAS Creswell and HMAS Albatross, we look forward to future interactions with both HMAS Creswell and HMAS Albatross.
