11.01.2022 Is your HIIT training really HIIT training? HIIT uses an anaerobic energy system and not and aerobic energy system. This means that during HIIT training, you are NOT relying on oxygen as a fuel source. At the end of the HIIT round, you will have an oxygen debt and feel completely out of breath, this is called excess post-exercise oxygen consumption or EPOC. ... True fatigue does not occur when the exercise feels hard or you feel tired. Fatigue means when your brain can no longer control your muscles, this means you cannot jump, no matter how hard you try! If you are resting during a HIIT session, then you are not obtaining the anaerobic benefits of HIIT training. Performing your training correctly and effectively could be the difference between increasing your fitness and resistance to fatigue, and simply just plateauing. www.68fitness.com.au
