22.01.2022 Just over 3 weeks until race day!! Look out for your first pre-race email over the next few days. It may go through to junk mail so check there or I will post it here also. The Half Marathon is now SOLD OUT. Sorry there will be no waitlist or late entries as any withdrawing runners will be replaced by marathoners dropping down. I will be ordering race bibs soon so if you would like your name on your bib grab one of the last remaining spots ASAP.... Put any questions at the bottom of this post and I can address them here and/or in the first email.

Sign up at the event page so we know how many to expect. Also download the App in advance. You may run into problems if you leave it to the last minute like a few of us did last year.

16.01.2022 Entries are all set to open at 6am Monday morning. We like an early start at 6 Inch, so set your alarm if you want to be among the first to enter. There are free entries available to this year's race for current Australian Defense Force personal including Army Reserves. I know at least a couple of previous runners who fit this category so send me a PM for the discount code and encourage your mates to sign up too.

08.01.2022 To avoid ending up with 100 extra t-shirts this year I am going to finalise free shirts on October 21 this year. Therefore if you want to get your free shirt you have 5 weeks to enter. There may may be some shirts available through the transfer system but sizes will not be able to be guaranteed. Commit, Act (Train) and Belong to the greatest running community on the planet :)

07.01.2022 Well what a weekend! Both my brain and most of the field had gone home by presentations so a few extra thanks are in order. To all the aid station volunteers thank you so much! This race couldn't go on without you and you ensured hilarity and kept everyone moving with food and fluids. A particular mention must be made of Aid 1 whose antics not only had everyone in stitches but who were so crazy only 2 runners (both close friends) dared to pull out here and risk a lift back wi...th the mad geriatrics :) ASICS provided shoe vouchers to all the race winners ably organised by The Running Centre who have supported this race since the first official edition in 2009 just after they had opened. The volunteers at the start were able to get everybody registered in quick time and on the buses helping get both races started on time. The volunteers at the finish were hanging medals around necks for over 4 hours as well helping with set up and pack down. Thank you! Those withdrawing runners who chose the option of volunteering for a full refund, please remind me if you haven't been refunded yet. Altitude Training WA provided vouchers to our first local runners for a full training package in their state of the art mobile facility. The winners of these awards were Nathan Fawkes from Waikiki and Kathryn Watt from Kwinana both just a short drive away from their Secret Habour base. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys smash their next event! Thanks again to Belle Kennedy who missed presentations but helped with bib preparation and hand out at TRC as well as a million other things. Thanks to Hammer Nutrition Australia for providing Fizz and Heed for the aid stations and prizes. Thanks to Peak Podiatry Subiacoe who have been providing spot prizes since 2009. Thanks to Red Bull who provided the Race Director and runners with Wings to get the job done. Red Bull would love to see a huge turn out at their charity event Wings For Life on May 6. Whilst the official Australian edition has moved to Melbourne the WA selfie run will be based at UWA in 2018 and was heaps of fun last year. Please put it in your diaries now (May is pretty quiet on the WA running calendar despite some of the best running weather of the year). 100% of race entries and donations go straight to the charity researching for a cure for spinal injury. And most of all thanks to all you runners for braving the weather and celebrating another running year with us :) Please check your results and get back to me if there are any discrepancies

05.01.2022 The prizemoney is back for 6 Inch! This year the male and female winner will both pocket $250 each with an additional $250 each for a course record! The rumour is there are some very quick 10K runners coming to show their thing on trail. Can the ultra trail runners show them how it's done? There are just 67 spots left in the marathon and 33 in the Half!
