24.01.2022 Members of 6 RAR are proudly supporting Legacy Week 2020. CPL Patrick Ladbrook, PTE Benjamin Le Sueur and PTE David Bunfiled joined other members of 7th Combat Brigade are collecting money for Legacy to support families suffering after the injury or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their service.



24.01.2022 Yesterday 6 RAR remembered LCPL Jared Crash MacKinney, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on the 24th August 2010, aged 28. A memorial service with close friends and family was held at the 6 RAR Memorial Grove to honour his life and the sacrifice he made. Lest We Forget

24.01.2022 2 CERs Combat Rescue Troop have been rehearsing their Vertical Personnel Rescue skills at the rock climbing and rappelling tower. Sappers were thrown into several climbing and rescue scenarios, with a focus on ensuring their own safety and effective extraction of life-sized dummies.

23.01.2022 Believe it or not, this jetty was broken before LCPL Mitch Big Rig Bowden stepped on it. Throwback to Exercise Vanuatu Alliance 2019 with 2 CER and the Vanuatu Mobile Force. Here the team conducted a wharf assessment on Epi Island to determine damages left by Cyclone Harold.

23.01.2022 Congratulations to LTs Matthew Low and Kai Kearney who graduated from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Infantry Captains Course. Matthew and Kai were the first foreign officers to participate in the course. Our ability to learn from each other is a testament to our strong friendship with the RFMF

23.01.2022 2 CER's Dry Support Bridge is capable of supporting some of our heaviest vehicles across ravines, creeks, rivers and other tough terrain. It can even hold up under a Digger carrying the weight of five weeks field in never ending rain



23.01.2022 This week 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment paid their respects to Privates Tomas Dale and Grant Kirby who were killed in action in Afghanistan, August 2010. With family and friends present, a small memorial service was held at the 6 RAR Memorial Grove to honour the lives of two brave men on the 10th anniversary of their deaths. All give some, but Grant and Tomas gave it all. Lest We Forget.

22.01.2022 It was a pleasure to host the former Commander of the 7th Combat Brigade, MAJGEN Hocking, to give him a proper farewell from the Brigade this week. Like many, MAJGEN Hocking posted quickly to support the nation on domestic tasks at the start of 2020. Thank you for your leadership sir.

08.01.2022 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment joined Vietnam War veterans today to commemorate the 54th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan in Vietnam, 1966. 105 Australian soldiers from 6 RAR and three NZ soldiers faced a larger force of North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong in an arduous battle. We lost 18 soldiers that day and another 24 were wounded. All give some, but some gave it all. Lest We Forget.
