19.01.2022 SWIM SAFE: Today is National Water Safety Day, and to mark the occasion, Surf Life Saving Queensland is reminding all swimmers to stay between the red and yellow flags. Last weekend, 32 swimmers in distress had to be rescued from beaches across the state. "That’s 32 people who made it home to hug their loved ones that night," Queensland Lifesaving Services Manager Peta Lawlor said in a statement. ... "This number year-on-year has more than tripled, which is of concern for us." 10.01.2022 SERIOUS CRASH: A man aged in his early 30s has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition, after motorcycle and car collided in Cooroy on the Sunnshine Coast. Emergency services were called to the crash on Cooroy Belli Creek Road at 2.25pm. "There were some bystanders doing some excellent first aid, looking after him until we could tend to his care," Ben Phipps from Queensland Ambulance said.... "We also had the very gracious help of an off-duty doctor."
