24.01.2022 This morning we had a visit from the relieving principal of Temora West Public School (Pete Roddy) who wants to share with our families these videos that promotes the school. This is one of the many great schools we have here in Temora so go and check it out!

24.01.2022 Thank you so much to all our families for helping us support Footy Colours Week......the friends really enjoyed wearing their team’s colours ( though the grown ups had a few disagreements about different team’s abilities!). We had fun doing lots of catching and throwing and kicking, as well as painting by throwing and rolling the balls. Inside we used tricky ball stickers and talked about which game we liked the best, and the possum friends painted some great footballs. We really appreciate everyone entering into the spirit to raise money for children’s cancer......we raised $150 through your generous donations......many thanks

24.01.2022 A great morning for lots of footie colour practice.... kicking and throwing and aiming at the holes! We used golf balls to roll and make patterns.... the friends wanted to hit them but then decided that wasn’t a good idea! We enjoyed seeing all the new colours we could make. The making shelves turned into a book making area with some great stories about dinosaurs and horses.... some great story telling and drawing! Peyton enjoyed remembering her Wiradjuri counting with the ha...ndprints.....the friends really feel proud when they remember the numbers. Nate took his friends on a bumpy Ute ride today....first they got ice cream then had to pick up pipes for the farm....really great collaboration and imagination. Out play dough turned into lots of gardens ....Phillipa made stamp prints of the different shaped flowers! Look forward to seeing all our friends in footy gear tomorrow See more

24.01.2022 There was a lot of interest in the wooden loose play materials today, with some different creations and ideas. Georgia made beautiful flower, Jack was working really hard to stand the little sticks up straight in his flower, Bec and Georgia turned the rings into beds for all the little people, Harrison made a rabbit and Hallie made a butterfly...great imagination! At the making shelves the friends worked together on special creations.....Hunter and Harrison on a REALLY tall t...ree...we could make it touch the roof! Paddy made a special card for his Gramdma who was picking him up We have been talking about different ways instruments make music...can you see the friends good ideas?Robyn enjoyed trying to trick their ears by playing the instrument when their eyes are closed.....but the friends are really good listeners! We played lots of music to our songs and fast and slow...great musicians See more

19.01.2022 What a busy day discovering and imagining our friends have had today! Outside they asked to see if our seeds from last week had grown....and some of them had! We remembered some of the special things that they would grow into. There was a request to do more planting so off we went.....can’t wait to transplant them into our big garden! Inside we extended our magnet experience....after discussions about different tools and fixing things last week we had bolts, screws, hing...es, spanned , nails and rods of all different shapes and sizes. It was really tricky seeing how many could hang onto the magnet and not fall off!! Unscrewing the big bolts and nuts were tricky too! Some of the friends used the mirrors and beads to make and draw letters, and together we did another experiment to discover what happens when things get hot. Today it was popcorn and their were lots of ideas about how it would change......from hard to soft, yellow to white and small to big.....we pretended to change too!! It tasted pretty yummy for afternoon tea too!! The Very Cranky Bear is still proving to be one of the friends favourite stories. Today we found out lots of friends ideas about why is he still cranky? 18.01.2022 At last our special big gardens are ready to have our plants put in.....we’re lucky to have Meaghan to help as she’s a really good gardener! Today the friends planted strawberries, zucchini, capsicum, lettuce and tomatoes.... can’t wait to put more veges and flowers in! Great footy colours friends today...... we’ve been taking photos all week so will do a special post on Friday! Inside there was a big discussion about tools, and what different tools could.....or couldn’t.......do.... hammers need nails not screws because they hit them. Wade and Finley made screwdrivers and hammers......Wade’s idea was to use strong hammer glue to stop the tops falling off! Our experiment today talked about what happens when things get cold so we looked at unfrozen Zooper Doopers..... how they looked and sounded.....and then frozen ones... and how different they looked and felt! Some really interesting ideas about what had happened...Spencer when things freeze they go hard Phillipa the cells are loose and runny then they get hard and tight. A big happy birthday to Jack....thanks for sharing your special day with us See more

16.01.2022 It’s wonderful in a play based program to see how the friends use loose materials to express their ideas and understandings. Kash decided to make a nest.... it has to be soft or the eggs will crack.....and warm so they don’t get cold. He ,Ruby and Jobe found lots of eggs and did lots of counting.....which was tricky as the eggs were in a group which means 1:1 counting can get a bit mixed up ! The magnets turned into some amazing things today.....Wade balanced lots on top to... make a tower, and James made a little person. He did some experimenting to see if he could get his man to stick onto the glass ( no) and the plastic container ( no) and the chair leg( yes!). The creative friends made funny people with things from the making shelf, while others used the mirrors to draw themselves. Jacob made the observation there are 3 Jacobs....the real one, the reflection one and the mirror one. Our what happens when things get hot experiment today was tricky. We had 2 mixes that we measured the milk into and mixed around..... but then only put one in the microwave to get hot. We thought it was going to melt when it got hot, but when it came out it , the heat had made it hard! We all had a little spoon full ......yummy! Have a great weekend everyone. See more

16.01.2022 What a busy day we have had today! We started outside with our friends looking for worms, going on a bus ride to Ariah Park and pretending to skateboard around the yard. We then transplanted our pea and bean seeds we have been growing to a pot. The children were then given the opportunity to try a snow pea. Half of them liked them and others didn’t like them so much. We enjoyed a funny story The Runaway Pea. Children were very settled and busy during our morning activities.

13.01.2022 A little catch up of photos for the Possum Room. We have all been very busy enjoying our days at Dragons Tale. The children have been enjoying reading stories and making football and soccer balls for football week this week. As a part of Heathers program this week and interest from Austin he asked if they could plant some seeds, so Heather done just that. This morning they planted wheat . The children are excited to see it grow! Our home corner has been busy with cooking spaghetti and making cups of tea.

09.01.2022 Another beautiful Spring day outside with the friends very busy and involved!! Some friends were experimenting how they fast they could get the car to godown the slide without crashing off. Other friends enjoyed a cuddle with Marshmallow in the sun. Kash and Harrison tried to trick Robyns ears by putting different things in the eggs and shaking them to see if she could guess what it was! Reece invented a great game of rolling the hoop and catching it when it rebounded and rol...led away.....great coordination!! In the sand lots of friends were very busy with their own experience .......smoothing roads, planting trees, making dinner and filling up silos! We love having conversations with them about their ideas and creativity! Inside we had beautiful spring gardens growing in our play dough, clever friend lifting with the magnets, and an amazing picture of a header that George concentrated on for ages! Our what happens when things get hot ? experiment today looked at how the hot water dissolved ( melted) the jelly crystals......and they changed from powder to water! See more

08.01.2022 Hi everyone, We need to inform you all of a very contagious virus called Adenovirus which is doing the rounds. Symptoms range from coughs, weepy sore eyes, gastrointestinal upsets. I have enclosed a link https:www.kidspot.com.au//bacterial-and-vi/adenovirus/news-story... We urge families whose children might be showing any unusual symptoms to contact their Dr as you will need a Drs clearance to return to the Centre. Thank you See more

07.01.2022 We have been talking about different ways people communicate. Today we read 2 stories to help us understand this better. We also learnt a couple of basic signs and continue to learn twinkle twinkle little star in sign language. We will video and share when we we are more confident. Children enjoyed practicing our ball skills outside and were very busy during morning time with footy related activities.

04.01.2022 Another great video that shows a tour of the school from one of the school's children.

04.01.2022 The lovely weather meant that we could put some more of our veges and flowers into our gardens. The seedling pots the friends planted a couple of weeks ago had all sprouted so in they went too! The friends have been really good at reminding us to water them.....hopefully they won’t killed with kindness The addition of some single and double hole punches to the making shelves added a new skill for the friends to master.....a great muscle strengthener......can you see the con...centration and effort on the friends faces! They also led to some amazing creations and ideas for making. The friends interest in dinosaurs from last weeks sandpit has continued inside with our low table world....leading to lots of conversations about the different species, how they moved and what they ate......some of the friends told us the difference between carnivores and herbivores!! Our experiment today carried on from Jacob’s recall of things with loose cells and tight cells.....we thought about what would happen to the paper towel...with loose cells when we put it In the paint......most of the friends thought it would suck up the paint through the loose cells. Then we put the wooden sticks in... they can’t suck it up because they have tight cells......and they didn’t!!! Great reasoning and hypothesising See more
