25.01.2022 It is important everyone understands the various wind speeds when a cyclone is approaching. So please share with anyone unfamiliar with living in a cyclonic region. #afewweewords
25.01.2022 Greens win Best sign in Broome contest despite record number of entries. In one of the closest tournaments in years, four virtually anonymous people came within two votes of a dramatic recount yesterday. ... The Liberal’s airport Pete Repeat montage looked hard to beat. Bold. Unforgiving. The razor wire fencing screamed liberal like no other. Labor changed its location from out the front of a high school to a bush series, spread across some of the town’s most popular drains, to great success. The Nationals satirical work almost got them the biscuits. A city-style neon billboard declaring their loyalty to the bush was genius. But the Greens’ gravity defying statement on Cable Beach Road, sitting slightly different to the others as if it carried no weight at all, encapsulated the party and the times perfectly. With the signage now irrelevant the victor will have the honour of selecting who will remove it from public view. We can't wait until next time.
23.01.2022 The sudden increase in Broome’s dragon fly numbers can be attributed to extended Mardi Gras celebrations, a study has revealed. The study concluded there was no coincidence between the sudden reduction in mosquito numbers and the rise in the dragon fly population. The findings were conclusive - dragon flys are actually mosquitos in drag.... We were sick of being treated like second class citizens, said one mosquito involved in the study. It wasn’t that long ago we were fogged off. It was so hard to simply be a mosquito and not get under anyone’s skin. "So we decided to come out and be proud of who we are. Now we’re talked about in town in a positive way." A visiting mosquito agreed. "It’s no wonder so many of us are coming over from the east. It’s like Sydney but better here. Next year I’m thinking of dressing as a preying mantis. That should keep the churches happy so it's win win for everyone."
17.01.2022 Signs of a utopia once thought unreachable under a Barnett Government are surfacing in Broome. A local supermarket has discounted exotic chocolates, that until last week were only affordable to the wealthy, the glorious wet season continues unabated, and classical music has begun emanating from the local tip. Local resident Tom Willas said there was real hope now that Broome could become a popular tourist town, with people able to not only enjoy the natural beauty, but also foreign chocolates at 1970’s prices. http://mobile.abc.net.au//steinway-piano-found-at/8360304
16.01.2022 Nice fluffy clouds are cool too. Nice white, fluffy clouds are calling for more respect after a string of photographs honouring big-ass-thick, dark clouds, surfaced over the weekend. "We know they have a hint of Armageddon about them, and that’s in at the moment, but that doesn’t make them superior, a Cumulous spokesperson said.... "People need to get their head out of these cumulonimbus attention seekers. Give it four months and let’s see how popular they are. They will be out of here quicker than a professor with a dodgy weather shield. Enough all ready."
10.01.2022 Looks like Trump’s America is already infiltrating Australian children's television. #saveourabc
