24.01.2022 To commemorate and learn about ANZAC day, the preschoolers made a poppy wreath. Placing all their poppy's around the wreath symbolising how we come together and remember our fallen soldiers and all who served in the war.

16.01.2022 International Fairy Tea Party 2020 Our little elves and fairies enjoyed a tea party taking part in the #InternationalFairyTeaParty. They were busy making magic potions and creating fairy wands.... A celebration that unites the world in play. Together with thousands of children across the globe, we celebrated play, imagination and nature exploration. We were also all united by the number of daylight hours, no matter where we were in the world on September 21, equinox.

15.01.2022 We are super excited about our new @mini_muddy_kitchens. Today our pre-schoolers took on the roles of little restaurant chefs and created mud cakes, sand soup and smoothies. Besides promoting hand-eye coordination, fine-motor and imaginative skills, mud kitchens encourage role-play amongst the children which helps them to develop their social skills and heightens emotional understanding. The kitchen set-up creates a rich language environment that provides opportunities for c...hildren to use specific vocabulary related to kitchen utensils and cooking and this developing their language skills. 14.01.2022 We hope you all had a beautiful Easter break. At A Place To Grow Academy the children have been busy with Easter craft and baking. Last week the multicultural Easter bunny delivered us some chocolate eggs along with some Matzah We also attended the Chifley Public School Easter hat parade. This week we help our orthodox friends with their Easter preparation, baking Koulourakia (Greek Easter Biscuits) and dying red eggs. 14.01.2022 Interest in Italian culture and cuisine was also a hot topic in the toddler room over last two weeks. They had the opportunity to visit a local pizza shop, Giovanni La Pizza, La Perouse to take part in a hands on pizza making session with the famous Giovanni. 11.01.2022 The children at A Place To Grow Academy respectfully acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture during Naidoc week. They celebrated by taking part in face painting, making damper, painting Aboriginal symbols on rocks, placing hands into our garden acknowledging and paying respect to the original custodians of our land and reading dreamtime stories around a pretend campfire.

10.01.2022 LUNCH BOX WEEK As part of our School Readiness Program, all Investigator children who are going to Primary School next year participated in Lunch Box Week by bringing in their own lunch boxes every day. Children had the chance to make their own lunch box order in the morning. Instead of lunch, our pre-schoolers choose from a variety of healthy lunch box options prepared by our Chef Nergis. 02.01.2022 It's been a while since we've checked in with all our lovely FB followers! Veggie Supper Hero Week at APTGA was a massive success! We would like to express a huge thank you to the families who have completed the survey on our Vegetable Hero Project. Your feedback has been really helpful and we are so impressed with the positive impact this project has had on the children. We really appreciate your suggestions and will make sure to consider them for similar projects in the future. We have definitely noticed a considerable change in children's eating habits and they are much more open-minded to trying new vegetables.
