06.01.2022 Are you sure you have been sold a genuine Hikvision CCTV system? If you have any doubts, please read below. Currently In Western Australia there are only 2 Hikvision Australian certified distributors. The two companies are, CSD in Balcatta, & Ness Corporation in Malaga. All other so called distributors are selling "Grey/Black market" products not made for the Australian market. Please see link below: http://www.ozspysecurity.com.au//Hikvision-Oceania-Black-G All CCTV equipm...ent supplied from the above distributors will have a genuine 3 year manufacturers warranty. If your installer is/has supplied you with genuine Hikvision equipment they should have no issues in supplying you with the following information: 1. A full list of all the serial numbers for the kit which is being installed. 2. On the day of the install request to see each of the engineers who are working on the CCTV system current installers license issued by WA Police. If they cannot provide this they may not be licensed. 3. Check on-line to see if the licensed engineer and company are on the system. It is illegal to sell or advertise CCTV equipment without this license. 4. Serial numbers to look out for. They may have CH in them which means they are "Grey/Black market" not intended for use in Australia. Serial number may be spelt in-correctly (sarial). May not have Hikvision labeled on the equipment as it has been removed due to not being a genuine product. 5. If you are supplied with a white Hikvision NVR it may not be made for the Australian market. Some of the issues with the internal power supplies are because they are not standard Australian compliant. Therefore if a fire is caused due to this reason, you may not be covered by your home & contents insurance. 6. Kit supplied by an un-authorized distributor holds no real manufactures warranty. Installer or distributor to honor any warranty which at most is usually 1 year. If you believe you have been supplied equipment by an installer that has suggested it is genuine Hikvision but you are un-sure then please contact your installer & ask for proof of purchase from either of the 2 companies named above. You can also call Hikvision direct on: 1300 557 450 to check the serial numbers match up to their data base.
