25.01.2022 I received a call for this job from Andrew and Sonia asking for some help with their stairs. These were the original back stairs and the hardwood had seen better days. Previously the joints and hidden areas had not been primed as they were assembled, allowing water to sit in the joints and slowly rot away. This job definitely presented some challenges along the way. To begin with we replaced all of the rotting floor joists and decking on the landings and then began cutting th...e stringers in. The treads on the original stairs were up to 15mm out of level with uneven rises (which is actually illegal) and we found the stairs to be about 50mm out of square to the landings and top deck. We were able to replace them with level treads and cut everything out of square to suit the top and bottom landing locations while keeping all joints uniform and tight. On all edges we dressed the timber to be pencil round and then reinstalled the existing aluminium balustrading. Everything is now safe, legal and ready for paint. Receiving the feedback we did for this job made it all worthwhile. See more

25.01.2022 Day 3 with the en-suite today and we resheeted the remaining walls and ceiling then began the waterproofing. Now it’s starting to look like something again.

21.01.2022 Days 6,7 and 8. On day 6 we began tiling the walls and this is where the progress really starts to show. On day 7 we finished tiling and grouting the walls and on day 8 we installed the wall hung vanity, finished off all edges around the bathroom with silicone and met our rep from Supreme Screens to have the frameless shower screen measured up. We now have a 7-10 day wait for the screen to be custom made and installed, while we wait for that to happen the plumbing and electrical will be fit off.

20.01.2022 After years of building our clients dreams we have recently been able to see our own dream deck come to completion. We removed our old rotting deck and cut the roof back to a standard overhang to give us our starting point. This was replaced with beautiful Australian spotted gum decking and handrails with heat soaked toughened glass balustrading and a 75mm insulated panel fly over roof. The results speak for themselves. 19.01.2022 A very long overdue picture of the MtGravatt en-suite completed with the frameless shower screen.

17.01.2022 Sometimes the hardest part of bathroom renovations is to take a quality picture of a small area. Something I am continually trying to improve on. Flick through for before and afters.

17.01.2022 Check out this amazing bathroom renovation in a beautiful little house in Chapel Hill.. even including floor heating!! Wouldn't we all love that in winter!!

16.01.2022 This is a job we have just completed. We removed ply wall panelling, a window, old framing and carpet and replaced it with new framing, walls, 2 feature windows 1200x230 timber look floor tiles and a natural French patterned travertine feature wall that will soon be accompanied by a fireplace.

14.01.2022 This is a deck we completed at Sunnybank Hills. The owners wanted to maximise their outdoor entertaining area with this deck extending from their existing patio. This decking material is Merbau, a hard wearing termite resistant hardwood. It is fixed down with stainless steel dome head ring shanked nails, and coated with Intergrain UltraDeck for a superior low maintenance finish.

12.01.2022 This is the main bathroom for a property in Forest Lake where we had previously rebuilt the en-suite. For this bathroom we were able to consult with the owners and plan a new layout to change the space from dark and cramped with limited storage, to light and airy with plenty of storage options in the custom made vanity. We removed the bathtub, relocated the shower, removed the hinged door and replaced it with a cavity slider. The tight corner shower was doubled in size with twin mixers and heads, modern tile insert floor waste grate and a minimalist Streamline shower hob. All of this and a quick tidy up of the toilet next door. Jobs like these make it easy to take pride in your work.

12.01.2022 Hi all, for those of you that have had me complete work for you feel free to leave a review. You can share your experience with a description and a photo on the page if you would like to. Thank you.

12.01.2022 Day 2 was all about strengthening and rectifying the issues we found as we stripped the room out. We started by overlaying the existing floor with 19mm chipboard flooring to strengthen everything up then a layer of tile underlay. The floor joists were also at 600mm centres, not at the standard 450mm centres. So we wanted to make sure there was no movement under the tiles. We then added intermediate studs to the over span walls and framed up the recess for the niche and shaving cabinet. Once that was all completed we began to sheet the walls and levelled the floor up. Our plumber came over the weekend and moved the vanity waste from the floor into the wall cavity, replaced the old shower mixer and added BP connections for the vanity mixer. All ready for phase 3 tomorrow..

09.01.2022 In the midst of all of the hype surrounding the corona virus I thought it was time for something a little different to be posted on social media. Hopefully it can give anyone with time on their hands some inspiration for projects they’d like to plan now or for when everything settles down again. It has been years since I have opened or updated this page (it’s hard to find time sometimes) we have completed all sorts of jobs from fix ups, small maintenance jobs, landscaping wo...rk, tiling, renovations, complete bathroom renovations, extensions and new builds. Ranging from fixing a towel rail to helping build a 4 story home in Brisbane. I will make an effort to start adding pictures of some of these jobs to this page from now on. We are still trading now and for the foreseeable future until government advice puts a hold on us. Feel free to contact us for a free quote for any work that you’d like to have completed. See more

07.01.2022 Another bathroom renovation underway. Sometimes all you need is a fresh colour and some change. On the outside this en-suite looks pretty good, however when we started to strip it out we found problem after problem. The problems on this one include, studs at 600mm centres (very poor form for tiled walls) because the studs were at 600 centres when the tiles were pushed back the wall sheeting pushes back with it. This means the tiles weren’t bonded to the walls properly and wer...e basically falling off the walls as soon as we started removing them. The water stop angle at the en-suite doorway was completely bed and tiled over allowing water to escape if the shower tray overflowed. No tile underlay was used under the bed, tile underlay helps to stiffen the chipboard floor and creates a better bond with the waterproofing, an inexpensive bit of insurance for a better quality job. And finally the flooring and floor frame are 20mm out of level in 1m from the doorway to the shower tray. Monday is going to be a big day of rectifying these issues and resheeting everything ready for waterproofing. Keep an eye out for stage to stage updates on this one. See more

04.01.2022 Day 4 was quick and easy. Just a top coat on the ceiling and second coat on the waterproofing. These are the days that really make bathroom renovations drag on. Even using a rapid set waterproofing system we need to leave 24hrs of curing time before we can bed the shower tray or lay the floor tiles. Tomorrow will be very similar as we will only he bedding the shower tray to create fall for the water to drain.

04.01.2022 Sometimes things come in cycles for us. We completed these two balustrading jobs back to back.

02.01.2022 This is another bathroom renovation we completed this year. We were called in after the owner had begun to strip out the existing bathroom and realised it was a bigger job than expected. We needed to grind the walls and floors back to a suitable surface, replace and relocate all of the plumbing and electrical, and replace the ceiling. Next up we waterproofed the room and installed the streamline shower angle. The walls and floors are tiled with polished rectified edge tiles with 1.5mm joints for a clean finish.

01.01.2022 Days 5 & 6. Day 5 was pretty uneventful, just some Bedding in the shower tray and installed the shaving cabinet. Day 6 we laid the floor tiles. Now the job is starting to take shape and beginning to look like something.

01.01.2022 Every job we approach comes with different circumstances. This one had issues with a shower tap leaking behind the wall, which caused the bottoms of the frames to be rotten out and a build up of mould. The owners unfortunately had issues with the insurance company not responding so they began to strip the bathroom out and this is what we started with. On this job we worked to their budget and allowed them to organise their own Plumber, Electrician and they did the painting to save costs as much as possible. I think the results speak for themselves. Scroll through for progress.
