19.01.2022 Does your ‘story’ really matter? Recently I have been pondering this question deeply. Some would say that our story is what makes us who we are, but is it really? Ram Dass teaches us that ALL of our suffering comes from within our own minds and is a result of the stories we tell ourselves. His solution is to let go of the story (or in his words... take off the suit!)... On a spiritual level I was like ‘fuck yes!!’ but the human part of me that has experienced pain and suffering couldn’t let it be that simple. Surely you can’t just bypass all the suffering and be like ‘hey, that’s just life’ and move on with life in peace and blissfulness? As a victim of abuse I struggled to see how the physical things that happened to me were only causing me pain because of my own mind So I came to this conclusion... ONLY AFTER we have worked through our past, our pain, our stored emotions and our human suffering... can we go full circle and come back to the conclusion that all of it never actually mattered in the first place. Only AFTER we have worked THROUGH all of these layers, can we find peace with what happened, forgiveness and a deep acceptance What do you think? @mycolourfulworld_

10.01.2022 There is a bit of debate out there about ‘trauma’ and what defines something as traumatic So, I came up with my own explanation to help anyone who is struggling to know if what they are struggling with is trauma: ‘A trauma is anything painful that happened in the past but still effects the person in the present’... If something happened to you in the past and you find yourself replaying it over in your head or being triggered back to memories of that moment, it’s trauma Trauma is like being frozen in time. Those moments aren’t fully processed, they’re open and raw, even though they happened some time ago! What an Aaruka healer will do is help you to fully process those moments and the beliefs you created in those moments so that you can move FORWARD in life
