12.01.2022 EXERCISE KALKADOON 2020 Each year a gruelling training activity puts trainees to the test as they support Army helicopters in the field by night and day. EXERCISE KALKADOON is the culmination of six months' work and has been part of the Aviation Groundcrewman Aircraft Support (GCAS) Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) Operator (OPTR) initial employment training program since 2007. ... Designed to train and assess soldiers in the field environment by night and day under direction of Aviation Trades and Tactics Wing (ATTW) Instructors, the trainees participate in tactical operations ranging from hot refuelling of Army ARH Tiger and MRH90 Taipan aircraft, loading and unloading of aircraft weapons systems and the tactical deployment of FARP teams.
