24.01.2022 ABA would like to mention a few reminders from the first few weeks. Taped ears/earrings are not acceptable. Anyone with taped earrings will not be able to take he court or will be asked to leave the court if any umpires see them during a game. Mouth guards are compulsory, they need to be in good condition and be worn inside the mouth. Any players chewing on there mouth guard will be asked to leave the court.... Finger nails need to be cut to an acceptable length, no longer than the finger. Uniforms need to be uniform. If still waiting for uniforms to arrive, please let us know or you will be penalised after the third playing fixtures. If still waiting, please ensure your temporary uniforms are all the same. This includes shorts and singlets. Thanks very much everyone. ABA Committee

23.01.2022 ABA will have merchandise available to purchase between 4.30 - 6.30pm tonight from Court Managers Office.

22.01.2022 Important COVID19 Update for ABA & LLC ABA & LLC have been working in close conjunction to be able to provide a safe and enjoyable experience at ABA in these difficult times of Covid 19. We were hoping to have an easing of restrictions and Phase 5 implemented by now, but unfortunately with the delay for two months, we feel a need to remind everyone of a few regulations we need to adhere too.... Firstly, we need to ensure within LLC that there is a One entry One exit policy. This is a LLC, BWA and Govt regulation we need to adhere to as best we can. As everyone enters the centre, the main foyer will be barricaded to ensure everyone enters via the stairs to court 1. The ramp will be barricaded off as this will be an exit only pathway. Please ensure you cross the baseline of Crt 1 safely when a game is being played. When leaving the centre, please exit via the corridor to the eastern exit. Players & Spectators will be able to exit via the stairs at Crt 1, but will be directed to leave the centre via the eastern exit. If you wish to access the LLC canteen for food or drinks upon exiting, you will be allowed to divert there, but must leave via the eastern exit. LLC staff & ABA Committee members will be on hand to ensure this is a smooth process. Secondly, as socially distancing within the community is still required, we need to ensure, as best we all can, to keep the corridors clear. I understand the complexities of this request when exiting the centre after games due to the high volume of players and spectators. During games, we strongly urge everyone to find seating along the side of the courts and keep the corridors as clear as possible. Thirdly, although ABA is able to accommodate a large number of people within the centre, we strongly request that all non-essential people not attend LLC if not involved in the playing, coaching/managing of teams within the playing nights. We understand that we have a large number of junior teams, with parents that have older/younger siblings that need to attend the centre when players are playing. We strongly urge all parents to make sure that all children are seated with them whilst games are being played, and to keep the corridors clear as much as we can. ABA & LLC thank you for your understanding & help in this matter. Dean Hart ABA President.

20.01.2022 Important Notice from ABA & LLC From 5 December 2020, The Australind Basketball Association will be required to adhere to the latest COVID-19 requirements that will see the Leschenault Leisure Centre being required to maintain contact registers for WA Health Department COVID-19 contact tracing. This tracing system will require every person aged 16 years and over that enters the LLC to register their contact details.... It is recommended that people download the SafeWA app as this will be the easiest way for all Western Australians to check into facilities. If you do not have the SafeWA app then a manual paper-based sign-in system will be available upon entry to the centre. See more

13.01.2022 ABA is proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities, making a difference in the lives of over 60,000 families with seriously ill children. This morning our ABA Treasurer, presented Treendale Manager, Jayden, with $255.80 that was contributed by our players at our Rep team trials. This is ABA's second year supporting this charity and ABA would like to thank our players and families for their donation generosity at the trials.

12.01.2022 Accredited BWA Scoretable Course Just a little bit of clarifying information regarding the Level 1 BWA Scoretable course up coming at ABA. This 3 hour course is not to be confused with the basic introductory information we gave to parents of our new intake of Under 11’s prior to the start of the season.... Managers/Parents of children involved in representative teams are required to be involved in Scoretable duties so there is a very real need for a good understanding of how a cooperative Scoretable crew should operate. Locally we also need to build our competencies and that is why ABA has independent people for Scoretable rosters for finals. Please come along and participate and show that you would like to be a part of ABA’s mission to educate in all aspects of Basketball here at Australind. Please click on the link to grab the Registration Form and get it back into ABA as soon as possible. https://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi ABA Committee

11.01.2022 Notice for Junior Bouncers Parents A reminder to all parents: uniforms are to be returned to your manager after presentations tonight (we will wash them) so your $10 uniform bond can be issued. I hope you and your child have had a great experience, and look forward to seeing you at the courts. ... Narelle

10.01.2022 Important Update from BWA regarding Contact Tracing COVID19 BASKETBALL WA CONTACT TRACING UPDATE From 5 December 2020, indoor sport stadiums will be required to maintain contact registers for WA Health Department COVID-19 contact tracing.... Providing contact details helps make contact tracing more efficient, if it becomes necessary. This helps stop the spread of COVID-19 infection. In the event of COVID-19 being detected in the WA community, contact registers help to protect the community by providing information to the WA Health contact tracing team, which enables them to quickly identify and assist anyone that may have been exposed to COVID-19. Below we have included State Government advice on a series of questions. You will need to work with your Venue Owner to understand the contact tracing system that they will be using and what your role will be in this system. The majority of our country associations operate in local government run facilities and it is very likely that they will be responsible for the contact tracing system at your venue. In such circumstance, your role is more than likely to ensure that your members are aware of what they have to do to enter the venue. We would recommend that people download the SafeWA app as this will be the easiest way for all Western Australians to check into facilities. You must however, also provide a manual paper based sign-in system for those Western Australians who do not download the SafeWA app. If you are responsible for running your stadium you will need to ensure that you meet the contract tracing requirements. You should make sure you engage your venue owner to ensure that they are comfortable with the contact tracing system that you will use but you will ultimately be responsible for implementing and maintaining the contact register. SUMMARY OF KEY CONDITIONS: Indoor stadiums will now need to implement a contact tracing system, including a manual system for those that do not want to use the SafeWA app. Indoor stadiums are still subject to the 2 sq metre capacity rule. Your organisation should still ensure hygiene protocols are followed, with sanitiser available for all patrons and high use areas (such as score benches) wiped clean between every game. 1 December 2020 For further information or any concerns please contact: Evan Stewart Deputy CEO BASKETBALL WA See more
