13.01.2022 Have you heard.....The ABA has a NEW podcast and blog!! The first episode will be available on your favourite podcast platform on Thursday 19th November. When you’re a new parent, you need information that’s easy to access and easy to understand. You need to know it’s from a source you can trust. Most of all you need support and understanding from people who know what you’re going through the changes a new baby brings.... The beauty of ‘Breastfeeding with ABA’ is that it is by parents and for parents, but has the added benefit of being backed by 56 years of wisdom and, thanks to ABA’s Breastfeeding Information and Research team, is supported with up-to-date information that you can trust. On ‘Breastfeeding with ABA’, you will hear parents who’ve been through it all talk about the early days after your baby is born waiting for your milk to come in; dealing with or hopefully avoiding cracked nipples; breastfed babies and poo; managing our milk supply; sleep; crying and fussy babies; and most importantly, finding your village. We know that every challenge can be faced when you have your village around you. We know because we’ve faced them too. Subscribe now so you don't miss the 1st episode!
03.01.2022 The ABA have a Code of Ethics we need to follow when posting on the Facebook Page. These are available on the website to read in full, however some key points are: * Be respectful of each other and acknowledge that everyone makes different choices in how they parent. There is no one right way to do things. Inflammatory posts or comments will be deleted or requested they be edited. * The thing that brings us together is that we want to breastfeed our children - that said keep... in mind that not everyone has been able to achieve their breastfeeding goals; so some of us exclusively breastfeed, some mix feed, and some use only formula. This is a forum for support, not judgement. * Please refrain from naming health professionals or hospitals - this is about ABA fostering positive relationships with the health sector as well as respecting each other's choices. Feel free to request private messages (PM) if you are searching for a health professional recommendation. * Avoid naming brands - this is so you don't feel like you have to have that exact brand or this specific model to 'parent properly' or keep up with the Jones' as it were. Again ask for PMs if you are after a recommendation. Breastfeeding counselling is not offered in this forum so keep in mind any suggestions or experiences shared by other members are not necessarily ABA endorsed. If it sounds like you need counselling, you will be recommended to contact the ABA helpline on 1800 686 268. If it sounds like you need medical advice it will be suggested you see your health provider.
