06.01.2022 Kra dong ($23/4 choices) is the draw at Abb Air - Thai Cuisine 1982. It’s commonly eaten in Thailand as a lunch, where sticky rice is teamed with fried onion, c...hilli paste, and a snacking selection of meats. We tried two types of pork (rib and pork heaven) plus jerky-like air-dried beef, as dinner, against a few other dishes, and were well pleased. Lard na ($13.90) taken in chicken, is a salty-savoury gravy topped with a ball of crispy egg noodles that you smash to consume. Think of it as Thai comfort food. Sai kok e-sarn ($11.90) are grilled, snack-sized balls of glutinous rice and sausage served with chillies, roasted peanuts, and green leaves. Prawn koche’z ($11.90/4) bind the crustaceans in egg noodles, and top them with fresh roe on a creamy, tangy sauce with crisp salad. Everything we ordered was tasty, and the requested chilli level (hot) in the som tum kai kem ($16.90)green papaya salad with salted eggwas actually quite fierce. Luckily a flouro-green coconut and pandan drink helped to put out the fire. While relatively small inside and often busy, the setting on Pitt Street is nicely lit and attractively designed with distressed walls and plenty of neon.,
