18.01.2022 TIP #1. Focus on what you do know as opposed to what you dont know Whenever you notice that your anxiety is leading you to contemplate what-if scenarios, resist taking the bait. Instead, focus on the facts. For example, while you dont know if youll get the virus, you do know that the majority of people who get COVID-19 have symptoms that are minor and manageable. Or, you dont know when youll see beloved family members who are living in other countries, but you do know you can video-chat with them and stay connected. #respect, #itspersonal, #positiveenergy, #peoplefirst #peoplealways #InThisTogether

16.01.2022 Play with your Pets Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. Pets also provide valuable companionship for older adults. Perhaps most importantly, though, a pet can add real joy and unconditional love to your life. Studies have found that:... Pet owners are less likely to suffer from depression than those without pets. People with pets have lower blood pressure in stressful situations than those without pets. One study even found that when people with borderline hypertension adopted dogs from a shelter, their blood pressure declined significantly within five months. Playing with a dog or cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax. Pet owners have lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels (indicators of heart disease) than those without pets. Heart attack patients with pets survive longer than those without. Pet owners over age 65 make 30 percent fewer visits to their doctors than those without pets. While people with pets often experience the greatest health benefits, a pet doesnt necessarily have to be a dog or a cat. Even watching fish in an aquarium can help reduce muscle tension and lower pulse rate. One of the reasons for these therapeutic effects is that pets fulfill the basic human need for touch. Even hardened criminals in prison show long-term changes in their behavior after interacting with pets, many of them experiencing mutual affection for the first time. Stroking, hugging, or otherwise touching a loving animal can rapidly calm and soothe you when youre stressed or anxious. The companionship of a pet can also ease loneliness, and most dogs are a great stimulus for healthy exercise, which can substantially boost your mood and ease depression. #playwithyourpets #pets #puppies #kittens #cats #animals #furryfriends #pets #dogsarefamily #taketimeout #mentalhealthawareness #anxiety #depression #loneliness #mentalhealth #abbotsfordprivate

13.01.2022 HAPPY 50TH EARTH DAY 22nd April 1970 to 22nd April 2020 The theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge but also the vast opportunities of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary. ... An unplanned grand experiment is changing Earth. As people across the globe stay home to stop the spread of the new coronavirus, the air and seas have cleaned up, at least temporarily. Smog has stopped choking New Delhi, one of the most polluted cities in the world, and Indias getting views of sights not visible in decades. Nitrogen dioxide pollution in the northeastern United States is down 30 percent. Rome air pollution levels from mid-March to mid-April were down 49 percent from a year ago. Stars seems more visible at night. As much of the world has spent weeks, if not months, in lockdown in the run-up to the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Earth has become both cleaner and wilder. #earthday2020 #earthday #climatechange #climate-control #50thanniversary #ourearthourfuture #weareinthistogether #covid_19 #cleanerfuture #cleanerfuture4ourkids #2020
