22.01.2022 The Barkindji Men's Dance and Cultural Group performed at the Wilcannia Mission Camp heritage and cultural listing ceremony. They performed a number of dances, including a Celebration of Country "shake a leg style". Featuring Owen Whyman on the didgeridoo and Brendon Adams on the clap sticks.... Wilcannia's Mission Camps and cultural places have been gazetted as a recognised and protected Aboriginal Place after two years consultation with the Aboriginal Land Council and locals.

While improvements have been observed in immunisation rates and children attending school, the report shows that the rate of smoking in pregnancy for young Aboriginal people in the region is more than nine times higher than the rest of the state population.

09.01.2022 Broken Hill’s biggest race meet will go ahead in 2021. Racing NSW has allocated a race date of Saturday 13th March to the Club. Tickets will be strictly limited in order to meet COVID-19 requirements, and must be pre-purchased. All patrons will be required to abide by the COVID-19 safety plans set out.
