25.01.2022 Hello everyone. I thought that it was time to let you know what we are doing to help your children in our practice. We intend to keep working and providing the care that we are passionate about. We would firstly ask that if you have any signs of sickness, regardless of the cause, to cancel and reschedule. We will be ensuring social distancing as much as possible by asking that only the children that need to be seen attend the clinic with the consenting adult. We have plenty... of room to spread out in the waiting room. We have a handwashing station set up in the hallway, and ask that every person who enters the practice washes their hands thoroughly with soap and water. You may notice some changes when you come into the practice. Some of the toys may have been removed, and that is just for the health and safety of everyone who enters our rooms. High levels of infection control and instrument sterilization have always been our aim, and we normally use a rubber dam for all restorative treatment, which limits the spread of aerosols. We have just added more to our current processes to ensure that surfaces are cleaned and wiped regularly throughout the practice. We are cleaning surfaces in the toilets in our building when we are there. Together, I believe that we can keep calm, and keep working in this trying environment. We want to be able to provide quality care to children, and have no intention of closing because of the coronavirus. If you have an emergency and you are in a high risk group or isolation please don't hesitate to contact us so we can help you get appropriate care or pain relief. Dr Kylie and the team

24.01.2022 Here are some ideas for children. Remember we are available for emergencies and ask us anything via messenger.

24.01.2022 Sadly, COVID 19 has caused significant disruption to everyone's lives at this time. For our practice the health and well-being of your family and our staff is paramount. The public health advice that we should all stay home is both necessary, and critical, to curb the spread of this virus and ensure that our lives can return to relative normality as soon as possible. As dentists we are at particular risk of acquiring this virus, as we have to work in the mouth, and drops of s...aliva can spread in a procedure or become airborne if we have to use the high speed drill or do complicated cleaning. The fundamental basis of reducing unnecessary movement of individuals is critical to ensuring that the virus can be contained. For this reason, dental treatment has been limited to essential care only. This means the management of facial swellings, pain and acute dental trauma and other conditions that may cause pain. To reduce the risk of spread to staff and to other patients very strict infection control standards have been put in place, but we had already adopted them here. We will be here to assist you through this difficult time, with access to emergency treatment both in our rooms and at the Buderim Private Hospital. Appointments are limited on a daily basis and we will be in our rooms on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If something is urgent at other times then please don't hesistate to call as we will be answering the phone and staff will be on call if need be to assist. Feel free to contact us through this page and Dr Kylie will answer any concerns herself. If you have booked an appointment in the next few weeks we will be trying to contact you to move it to a later date, and checking if there are any issues for your child at this time. If you are concerned that your child has pain that requires care I would advise touching base with us immediately. We are almost at level 4 restrictions for dental treatment. If it goes to level 5 restrictions in this area then we may be shut down and unable to provide the vital care that we strive to offer your children. We hope that everyone can maintain isolation and social distancing so that the current restrictions can remain in place for some time and enable us to keep helping you. We understand that there are many financial constraints for everyone at this time, and we will work with you to ensure that fees are fair and reasonable during this time, discounting them if need be. We are all in this together. Please look after your family and stay home. If there are issues we are here to help.

24.01.2022 In case you were confused..... the tooth fairy is an essential service

23.01.2022 Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter. I hope that you all have an enjoyable day. Easter may not be celebrated how it normally is for your family but we can still pause and enjoy the excitement that this special day can bring to children. We've been blessed in our house with perfect weather for 'camping' out and a visit from the bunny. I hope that you all were lucky enough to have a visit from the bunny too.... Stay safe and have a wonderful day. Dr Kylie

19.01.2022 Sorry everyone. I have a raging sore throat, so to meet current requirements we will need to cancel today and prob tomorrow until I have been cleared. Sorry for the disruptions but the health of everyone is too important right now. We will endeavour to get everyone booked back in as soon as possible. Kerry will be in our rooms today.... Dr Kylie

19.01.2022 Look after each other

19.01.2022 On Saturday Carlos and Pat from H2Hstudios talked me into staging my family portrait for #thedrivewayproject. For those who don't know what it is, they drive past and shoot a portrait in your driveway, while they stay in the car. It's meant to be a bit of fun and help remember our social distancing for COVID19. We had loads of fun and about 20 minutes notice. We all know that working with children saying..... I am really pleased with this shot. It embraces everything about ...our family pretty succinctly. I am sure plenty of other shots didn't make the grade. If anyone is interested in participating by getting a photo I would encourage you to touch base with Carlos and Pat and create your own memory for COVID19. It was so much fun and super fast. They drive up and next thing they have gone. Our shot will go straight to the pool room . Dr Kylie

16.01.2022 Good news! None of us has COVID. The bad news is that with a persistent cough I'm staying home. Sorry to have to cancel today.Good news! None of us has COVID. The bad news is that with a persistent cough I'm staying home. Sorry to have to cancel today.

15.01.2022 After an extremely busy week with school holidays, it was a blessing to get outside with my 2 little ones to enjoy some fresh air, on a glorious Winter's day. Mapleton Falls National Park was our pick today. I hope everyone has had a wonderful break. We continue to follow our COVID protocols at work, but we will also be extending restrictions on anyone who has been in Melbourne or in contact with anyone who has been in Melbourne. We really don't want to have any major proble...ms here. We will only be working Tuesday and Friday of this coming week to allow staff to visit family in NSW, now the borders are finally open. A long weekend will be appreciated by everyone. Stay safe everyone. We look forward to seeing you soon. Dr Kylie

15.01.2022 Just something fun for you today

14.01.2022 My little Mini Mouse.... she is so onto 'the virus', poor kid. This photo was not taken for this purpose but her wink is so cute. 'So we can't go out the front door mum'..... 'because of the virus' ......of course we can darling. We can play, we can do gardening, we can go to daycare. We just don't need to be close to lots of other strangers. Kids are very perceptive and keeping them calm and happy is so important. Trying to keep them off Nan is more trying. ... We are blessed with relatively low density living here with space for most to enjoy. It won't be forever but it may be for a while. Together we can get through this. 12.01.2022 Here are some tips for home care for braces during the crisis

11.01.2022 Just got the tent up in our yard for a camping at home weekend. Still making new memories even during this period. It will be a first for my 2 to sleep in a tent. What are you all up to? Miss seeing our beautiful families so much. Post us some pics to enjoy. It's good news that the Easter Bunny is allowed to visit. ... Any problems or questions we are still here to help you throughout this COVID19 experience.

08.01.2022 We take COVID seriously. Kerry is unwell today so she won't be in. That means the phone will go to answering machine.... That means you may have to do your hand hygiene and wait until we can greet you. We apologize in advance but we will get through our day.

07.01.2022 Let's all look after each other. Protect our own families. Protect the elderly. Stay calm and stay home. It's very important to stop this spreading.

06.01.2022 If you were at all confused why we aren't allowed to work, this might help you understand.

06.01.2022 Happy Monday folks. A giggle to start the week right. A friend posted a ‘cuddle your kid’ challenge and I just knew ours would not be like the rest . I hope I’ve made you smile, now let’s get this day going. Who else gets asked to plait dolls hair?

05.01.2022 Today Dr Kylie celebrated her birthday in isolation. Quite an interesting way to celebrate for a change. Her sister reminded her of her childhood today with a funny photo taken before a school fete in primary school. Every year the school had an amazing dress up theme. There was Thai take away and cake with the kids after crazy hair day at daycare. It may quieter this year but equally beautiful.... We have been enjoying helping our patients remotely and please make sure you don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. Have a great weekend and best wishes for online learning commencing next week. The team at ABC Dentistry

04.01.2022 It's the news we have been waiting for. We have moved back to Level 1 restrictions which means limitations are only in place for people who are at risk of having COVID19. We thank you for your patience during this difficult time and look forward to providing more comprehnsive care for everyone.

03.01.2022 The ABC Kids network has some educational programming to help through these difficult home schooling periods. We are currently cancelling and rescheduling appointments that are currently booked until the end of April. With schools being closed for the next 5 weeks it seems unlikely that dental practice restrictions will be relieved prior to this time. In the meantime I think that Good brushing even three times a day may be beneficial, particularly if the kids are snacki g a l...ot. We are here to help with any problems or questions you may have and we're only too happy to help. Have a great week everyone. Dr Kylie and the team.

03.01.2022 Please note that there are many locations now deemed to be COVID restricted areas. We will endeavour to find out what that will mean to us. At this stage we would prefer not to see patients or carers who have been in these areas in the last few days.

02.01.2022 What a mess. THE POWER IS OUT SO WE CANNOT WORK TODAY. If you have an appointment today or need to contact us please text or phone 0434 449 400.

02.01.2022 I hope that you have found time to stand and remember with your families today. It was still a beautiful moving ceremony. This poem by 13 year old Makayla Lawrence is beautiful recited by Rupert McCall. His other idea this week have been fantastic. ... Lest we Forget

02.01.2022 School will hopefully return soon
