19.01.2022 Today we say thanks to the fire fighters who protected life and property one year ago at Woodgate Woodgate Rural Fire Brigade: It's a year ago today that we responded to a 'small' grass fire in the national park, a fire that eventually burnt for weeks, threatened property in Walkers Point, the Kinkuna Estate and down Heidkes Road along the Gregory River and badly impacted on much of the national park behind our town. That no property was lost is a testiment to the many volunteer and professional emergency service responders from many services and organisations who came to our assistance from far and wide.
