25.01.2022 Pumper 208 at wires down near the high school. Power has been restored and segenhoe street is open for traffic again. We would like to remind the community, especially the high school kids leaving school this afternoon that when there is a wire down beside numerous cars like that, please don’t go anywhere near it. Especially do not drive over it. The power was still live for some time before energy authority turned up to fix the problem.

24.01.2022 Firefighters from 208 conducted their annual fitness drill this afternoon. Over the next couple of weeks you may see some of the crew at the oval completing this drill, which is required of us to keep on top of our fitness for the community. If you are going past give us a wave

With bushfire season commencing, we urge any residents that have a pool, water tank or dam to sign u...p to our Static Water Supply (SWS) program. By displaying this free sign on your letterbox, firefighters can identify where there is an emergency water supply available to protect your home and possessions. 20.01.2022 This time of year the roads get busier, we want everyone to be very vigilant please. Take your time to wherever you need to go, there is no rush. From all the crew at 208 we wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.

16.01.2022 Last week, the crew had a rundown on Fire and Rescue NSW Station 208 Aberdeen 's new drone or RPAS (remote piloted aircraft system) and it's capabilities. This ...piece of equipment can help us with building fires, large HAZMAT incidents, searching for missing persons and much, much more! It has video, thermal imaging, floodlights, loudspeaker and more! Having this fantastic piece of equipment only 40 minutes away will be a great asset to our area, for extended or large incidents. Our Duty Commander also took part in the delivery of this training. In other news, we have received a new (old) SEV (service exchange vehicle) to replace our older spare truck. This one is the same model as our rescue appliance, but in outstanding condition from its previous home at Nyngan. #frnswmedia #rpas #dji #drone #heretohelp

15.01.2022 We had a great nights training last night with a visit from the Ba Semi. Big thanks to the BA Hazmat team.

15.01.2022 Double demerits are in place from 24 December until 3 January (inclusive). Stay under the speed limit, wear a seatbelt and keep your phone out of reach this silly season.

11.01.2022 The crew was kept busy last night with two automatic fire alarms in Scone and an early morning house fire in Muswellbrook.

10.01.2022 This morning at 1:24am Fire and Rescue NSW Station 392 Muswellbrook and Pumper 208 responded to reports of a house fire in Muswellbrook. The occupants had safely exited prior to brigade arrival and the cause was determined to be from something left on the stove. The house was tested for toxic gases and once safe the owners were allowed back inside. Again this morning at 08:24 Pumper 208 and Rescue Pumper 443 Scone responded to an electrical fire in Kelly street Scone. On arrival smoke was issuing from the house and crews got in BA (Breathing Apparatus) and went to the seat of the fire at the rear of the premises, another crew in BA done a secondary search to make sure no one else was still inside.

10.01.2022 Kids due to the rain we have been receiving all day, Santa will have to come around on the fire truck tomorrow from 5-7pm. Listen out for our siren because we have LOTS of lollies!

10.01.2022 Know what to do when you hear a siren or see the flashing blue or red lights of an approaching emergency vehicle? When you hear a siren or see the flashing blu...e or red lights of an approaching emergency vehicle: * Give way to the emergency vehicle if you are stopped do not move until it is safe to proceed, even if the traffic light is green. If you are moving, you must slow down and stop if necessary to avoid a collision with the emergency vehicle. * Move out of the way as soon as you can safely do so * Move over as much as you can to the left-hand side of the road or, if possible, move onto the road shoulder or breakdown lane. On multi-lane roads, try to move into the left lane to let the emergency vehicle pass * Drivers on both sides of the road should be prepared to move out of the path of emergency vehicles * Emergency vehicles with sirens sounding or lights flashing responding to urgent situations are not required to follow the rules, as long as it is safe for them to do so. Drivers should always be extra cautious when they see flashing lights or hear sirens. https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au//approaching-emerg

06.01.2022 208 Aberdeen Fire and Rescue NSW carrying out RPAS (drone )training at Jefferson park Aberdeen. It has been a very busy week for the crew members attending the course , we have had plenty of fun.

04.01.2022 If you're changing your clocks before going to bed tonight, take a moment to check your smoke alarm. It’s as simple as pressing a button. If your alarm isn't working, replace the battery or the unit. Only working smoke alarms help save lives. Don’t risk it, test it. #PreparedForAnything #ProtectTheIrreplaceable

03.01.2022 Here is a great video showing you why you should NOT drive with your feet on the dash.
