Limited spaces are still available for the Indigenous Governance Workshop on Saturday 27 February, run as part of the Strong Roots for Our Futures program. Be inspired by Indigenous governance models from Australia and around the world; consider what it means for Traditional Owners to effectively govern their communities, groups and nations today; understand how new theories of Indigenous governance can be applied in practice. The workshops are open to all Victorian Traditional Owners, with priority given to Traditional Owners of the Mid North West, Central North, North East and Far East Gippsland regions. 16.01.2022 Round 4 of Aboriginal Community Infrastructure Program (ACIP) grants have been announced!! 14 Aboriginal-led organisations across Victoria will share $8.297 million investment to build, repair and/or maintain their properties. The organisations are: Aldara Yenara Australia Aboriginal Corporation Ballarat and District Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd... Dhauwurd-Wurrung Portland and District Aboriginal Elderly Citizens Inc Fitzroy Stars Football Club Gunditjmara Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust Nairm Marr Djambana Njernda Aboriginal Corporation Taungurung Land and Waters Council Aboriginal Corporation Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency Cooperative Ltd. Victorian Aboriginal Health Service Wandoon Estate Aboriginal Corporation. Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation Yoowinna Wurnalung Aboriginal Healing Service. This year’s ACIP investment is supported by a much-needed boost in funds to support Aboriginal organisations following the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As part of the recent State Budget announcement, a further $9 million will be made available in 2021-2022 for Aboriginal organisations to deliver infrastructure projects of their own design and choosing. We aim to inform December round applicants of the outcome of their application by the last week of January. ... The $10 million Fund has been established to support the delivery of community-led initiatives that respond to the impacts of COVID-19. The Fund will provide grants for initiatives that support: emergency relief outreach and brokerage cultural strengthening and; social and emotional wellbeing. Before you can get your boorai's birth certificate, you need to register their birth. It's never too late to register - you won't get into trouble.
