25.01.2022 This morning we dropped the third round of position changes, adding 1 new Back, 4 Midfielders and 5 Forwards. The Coaches Panel analysis: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimatefooty-round-9-positional-ch/ Full list of changes: https://bit.ly/3dnntF6... As always there are a few players we’re watching for a position change ahead of the final set of changes after Round 12. Stay tuned!

22.01.2022 ROUND 3 RESULTS FINALISED Following our previous announcement we have made the decision to apply projected stats & scores as actuals for the 44 players from Essendon and Melbourne who were named to play. Whilst there is no perfect solution, we felt projections were the most accurate of the various options available. When this game is rescheduled and played the actual stats will be ignored for the purposes of UF. To help leagues who would prefer to apply their own solution we ...will be making the "Edit Match Results" tool available to ALL leagues starting from tomorrow. Currently this is a subscription only feature but want all leagues to have the ability to apply results as they see fit given the challenging circumstances this season has presented. Moving on to this week the first wave of position changes will occur as normal on Wednesday, but Essendon and Melbourne players won't be assessed since they haven't played the 3 game minimum. Do you have a suggested position change? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to The Coaches Panel for their take on who might be gaining a new pos!

22.01.2022 The first round of position changes are now live - we’ve added 5 new Backs, 2 Midfielders & 1 Forward. The Coaches Panel analysis: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimatefooty-round-3-positional-ch/ Full list of changes: https://bit.ly/3dnntF6... There were a handful of other players who were just short of the mark for a position change but decided to wait on for various reasons (need more data, haven’t played enough games, inconsistent role). They will be closely monitored for change at Round 6. Note if your league uses restricted free agents these players have been made restricted free agents for a 1 day period. Remember that if your league doesn't want mid-season position changes this can be turned off by going to Tools > Edit League Settings. Alternatively if you don't agree with our changes and want to make your own this can be achieved in PLUS leagues via Tools > Edit Player Positions. Further details around the change process can be found on the Positions Changes help section.

21.01.2022 A lot of questions about what will happen as a result of the Essendon-Melbourne game being postponed, and while we're still working through a final decision, want to give you an update on top options being considered. - Firstly we are awaiting an update from the AFL over the next 48 hours on when this game will be played. If it's confirmed to be played in the next week or two we will consider waiting for the rescheduled game before finalising Round 3 results. - If the game wo...n't be rescheduled in the near term, we will likely apply projected round 3 scores for the ESS and MEL players who were named to play so we can complete the round and move forward. Projections have been reviewed and look like a fair approximation for real game stats. - As always, Leagues with a PLUS league upgrade will be able to use the "Edit Match Results" tool to adjust Round 3 results as they please. So if you disagree with our decision you can manually implement scores/rules of your choosing. We will provide a further updates over the next 24-48 hours once a final determination is made. For those wondering what to do with their Essendon and Melbourne players we consider it safe to keep them in Ultimate teams as it's unlikely we will leave them with no scores for Round 3.

21.01.2022 FINALS SYSTEM UPDATE The Select Finals System tool for Features PLUS leagues has now been updated to give leagues the option to exclude Round 15 from their finals fixturing. Simply go to Tools > Select Finals System and select from the new options prior to your finals starting. If your finals have already started and you wish to use this option send us a message with your league ID.... All non-PLUS leagues that were due to start finals in Round 15 will be updated to start in Round 14, with Round 15 being a bye. Unfortunately we can't support other finals formats such as Rounds 12, 13, 17 and 18 due to complexity. However if you're in a PLUS league message us to see if we can possibly make a manual adjustment. Lastly ICYMI we dropped the last round of position changes this week - see what The Coaches Panel thinks on the players that could make a difference come finals time. Good luck for the week ahead!

20.01.2022 POS CHANGES HAVE LANDED The first round of position changes are now live and boy it's a big one! 15 total changes comprising four backs, two mids, two rucks & four forwards. The Coaches Panel analysis: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimate-footy-round-3-positional-c/... Full list of changes: https://bit.ly/3dnntF6 There were a handful of other players who were just short of the mark for a position change but decided to wait on for various reasons (need more data, haven’t played three games, inconsistent role).

19.01.2022 POSITION CHANGE WEEK The first three rounds of AFL are in the books, meaning our first batch of position changes will drop tomorrow night. Who have you seen playing in a new role that warrants a change? Our friends at The Coaches Panel have given their thoughts on who deserves a new position: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimatefooty-possible-dpp-changes-/

15.01.2022 ROUND 11 UPDATE And just like that Round 11 is here. Make sure you get your team set for this afternoon's game and prepare for the following: 1. Sydney and GWS have a bye. Players from these teams will not score points and we will not be adding replacement stats. You will be able to move these players up until the last game of the round starts.... 2. For Round 11 the First Saturday lockout will come into effect at 6:10pm Mon night when GE vs SK kicks off. 3. Leagues with Weekend RFA's will have these processed at 1am AEST on Thu 13th following the end of the round. Once again a friendly reminder on some League Manager admin: - Changes to lockout settings MUST be done today before the first game of the round starts. These can't be changed mid-round. - If you want to use replacement scores for bye players (such as averages or projections) these can be manually applied by league managers using the Edit Match Results tool and adding extra points each team. Round 10 results can now be edited. That's all for this round, now go get that W!

15.01.2022 ROUND 2 UPDATE It’s been a tough few months, but the AFL is back next week and so is Ultimate Footy! Fortunately the AFL have kept things as normal as possible so there are no major impacts to Ultimate, and all leagues are slated to resume as normal when Round 2 kicks off. This also means we've avoided making any new tweaks to gameplay, but there's still a few important things to be reminded of:... - The AFL will be releasing the season fixture in blocks every few weeks. Rounds 2-5 are currently live and reflected in the game and we'll add new fixtures as they're confirmed. - Now that there is more certainty about the season, any league who followed our earlier advice of changing to a rolling lockout may wish to revert back to a "First Saturday" or "First Game" lockout. - With the season being reduced to 17 rounds all fantasy fixtures have been shortened by six weeks and finals brought forward by six weeks. - Position changes will only happen after rounds 3, 6 and 9 this season. - Projected stats and team scores have been reduced by ~20% to reflect the impact of shortened quarters on player production. Fingers crossed this is the last of the COVID-19 impacts and we can get on with enjoying footy once again. Best of luck to all coaches and get prepped for the return of footy next week!

13.01.2022 ULTIMATE IS BACK FOR 2021! You know the drill - get the crew back together and league restarted asap, pick keepers and start planning for draft domination Drafts are available from this Tuesday Feb 9th so not too much longer to wait if you're all ready to go. Good luck for big season ahead!... https://www.ultimatefooty.com.au/

10.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE The AFL has taken the unprecedented decision to suspend the season until late-May. In response we have made the following tweaks to Ultimate Footy to ensure your league reflects the current state of play. - All league fixtures have been shortened by six weeks and finals brought forward by six weeks as well.... - Leagues with a Features PLUS upgrade can now select a finals start date from Round 8 onwards. Previously the earliest you could select was Round 15. - Position changes will only happen after rounds 3, 6 and 9 this season. - For Insider Season Pass subscribers, projected stats and team scores have been reduced by ~20% to reflect the impact of shortened quarters on player production. We will continue to monitor the situation and make further updates if and when required, but for now you can continue to add, drop and trade players in preparation of play resuming. Until then all coaches please stay safe and trust that footy will find a way

09.01.2022 ONE SLEEP TO GO! The return of footy is almost here! For any leagues wanting to take the AFL's lead with a last season rule change, we have the following suggestions for dealing with the new medical sub and teams being announced only 24 hours before games. Subs - UF has the option to set a "Time on Ground Threshold" for determining if an emergency player is eligible to take the field. Leagues may want to increase this to 50% to ensure that if a player plays 50% or less or gam...e time they can be eligible to be replaced by an emergency who scores higher (points leagues) or plays more time (category leagues). The AFL have also said if an medical sub doesn't take the field that they will still be counted as playing an AFL game - UF will NOT be classing these players as having played. Team announcements - Similar to last season, we recommend using "Individual Game Time" (aka Rolling Lockout) lockout rule settings, especially for making Lineup and Captain changes. "First Saturday" could also be considered but will become problematic in rounds when Monday games are played. Both of these settings can be changed by League Managers by going to Tools > Edit League Settings. Time to make those last few lineup changes and prepare for the big season ahead... good luck!

06.01.2022 ROUNDS 9-12 UPDATE Following the AFL's announcement of the next block of fixtures we've added Rounds 9 to 12 to the game. The condensed set of games has implications on leagues using "First Saturday Game" lockout and "Weekend RFAs" switched on, so we've added a handy guide to the new key dates and included a full list of changes in the comments. If your league isn't using these settings then everything will stay as-is.... Also note several key updates to gameplay: - Leagues without a Features PLUS subscription will have their finals pushed back a week so that finals end in the newly added Round 18. Features PLUS leagues will not have this auto-updated, but managers can change finals system and timings via League Tools. - If a player has a bye, they won't receive a score for that week. This differs to how we treated the ESS v MEL game in Round 3 because here the byes are known in advance and coaches can plan accordingly. - Round 9 position changes will occur on Monday Aug 3rd. We're also adding an additional round of position changes after Round 12. As a reminder the Edit Match Results tool has been made free for ALL leagues to use should you wish to implement a different way of dealing with scoring over these rounds and need to make manual score adjustments. Thanks again for your patience while we work through the challenges of 2020 and supporting the game! Best of luck for the week ahead

05.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE We're still awaiting final word on what the AFL plan to do for Round 1, but at the current moment this is how Ultimate Footy is preparing for any interruptions. 1. We strongly recommend all leagues change all lockout settings to "Individual Game Time" (aka rolling lockout) for the foreseeable future to prevent issues if a round is forced to be extended beyond a week. League managers can do this via Tools > Edit League Settings > Rules. These can't be change...d mid-round so should be changed immediately. 2. The season will be condensed to 17 games, meaning league fixtures will need to be reduced and finals start earlier. Once there is a clearer understanding of the new fixtures we will release an update to remove rounds 18-23 from fantasy leagues and move finals series forward by six weeks. After this is complete PLUS leagues may choose to make updates to their new fixture and finals as required. 3. If AFL extend playing lists we will add the new supplementary players to the game. For leagues that use restricted free agents they will be made RFAs for at least 24 hours when added, similar to mid-season draft additions. 4. Leagues already have the option of extending benches at any time to help account for larger AFL squads and players being rested. League managers can go to Tools > Edit League Settings > Lineup and increase the number of BN slots. There may be further changes required as we learn more about the AFL's plans and will keep you posted - but for now the game must go on and coaches should prepare for kick off tomorrow night!

03.01.2022 Second round of position changes are live - we’ve added 2 new Backs, 5 Midfielders, 1 Ruck & 4 Forwards! The Coaches Panel analysis: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimatefooty-round-6-positional-ch/ Full list of changes: https://bit.ly/3dnntF6... There were a handful of other players who were just short of the mark for a position change but decided to wait on for various reasons (need more data, haven’t played enough games, inconsistent role). They will be closely monitored for change at Round 9.

01.01.2022 Third round of position changes have just dropped! We've added five backs, three midfielders, five forwards and a ruck. The Coaches Panel analysis: http://coachespanel.tv/ultimatefooty-round-9-positional-ch/ Podcast: https://player.whooshkaa.com/episode?id=829878 Full list of changes: https://bit.ly/3dnntF6... As always there are a few players we’re watching for a position change ahead of Round 12. Stay tuned!

01.01.2022 ROUND 10 UPDATE The first of the five day rounds are upon us and here’s a reminder of what this means for Ultimate: 1. Leagues with weekend RFAs will have these processed at 1am AEST tonight. We have pushed this back from 12am to give a bit more time to put in claims.... 2. Position changes will take place at 8am Monday AEST. They will be subject to the normal 24 hours RFA period for leagues that use RFAs. 3. Carlton, Fremantle, Hawthorn and West Coast have byes in Round 10. Players from these teams will not score points and we will not be adding replacement stats. You will be able to move these players up until the last game of the round starts. 4. For Round 10 the First Saturday lockout will come into effect at 5:40pm Wed night when GE vs NM kicks off. We’ve also received a lot of questions about how to implement different scoring and settings over this period so here’s some info: - AFL squads are only announced 24 hours before games so we recommend leagues move to a First Saturday or Individual Game Time lockout. This CAN ONLY be changed before the first game of the round so do this now. - If you want to use replacement scores for bye players (such as averages or projections) this will need to be manually applied by league managers by adjusting team scores after the round ends. Go to Tools > Edit Match Results and simply add the extra points each team should have earned under your replacement score method, and we’ll update results, ladders and finals accordingly. - For technical reasons we can’t adjust lineup or emergency sizes. You can however try a gentlemens agreement to only use a certain number of lineup slots. If that doesn’t work League Managers can of course use Edit Match Results to make any required adjustments once the round finishes. Lastly we urge all coaches to give your commissioner a chop out and adhere to any custom rules they want to implement over this challenging stretch of fixture. Ultimate Footy puts the power in your hands to achieve almost any set of rules, but unfortunately can’t automate everything so there may be some manual work needed for a few weeks. We again thank you for your understanding and wish you all the best for this next chapter of survival of the fittest fantasy football!

01.01.2022 ROUNDS 14-18 UPDATE The AFL have announced the remaining schedule and there's been a lot of questions on how it will be handled on UF. We'll provide a full update after Round 12 is complete but some quick guidance for now... Round 14 & 16 have two teams on a bye and will be treated as per previous bye rounds where leagues will need to add adjustment scores if desired.... Round 15 has six teams on a bye and will be also be treated as per previous bye rounds, however we will be providing options to exclude this round from affecting finals: - We are enhancing the Edit Finals System tool to allow PLUS leagues to exclude Round 15 from finals. This option will be available by the start of the next round. - For non-PLUS leagues that were due to have their finals start in Round 15, finals will now start in Round 14 and Round 15 will be a bye. For now sit tight and stay tuned for more info once these updates are applied during the week. And last but not least look out for the final position changes dropping on Wednesday evening!
