25.01.2022 Did you know that anyone can walk into Landgate and search your name and that your name may be linked to your current residential address? Some members of the public dont want these details revealed for a number of reasons, including domestic violence situations or because of the work that they do (eg. theyre a police officer). Many people have their name suppressed on the electoral role, but did you know that you can apply to Landgate to have your personal details suppressed? Its easy, particularly if youre details are suppressed by the electoral commission. 24.01.2022 Did you know that you need to ensure that your smoke alarms are compliant before you transfer your property? One of the requirements is that your smoke alarm must less than 10 years old. How do you tell? Open the cover and there will be a sticker that will show you the year that the smoke alarm is due to be replaced. Ive put an example below. The second photo is just for a giggle.

22.01.2022 Further to our post this morning, check out this press release from the Office of State Revenue: CHANGES ANNOUNCED TO THE FIRST HOME OWNER GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ESTABLISHED HOMES IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA In the 2015-16 Budget delivered on 14 May 2015, the Western Australian Government announced that the first home owner grant of up to $3,000 will be removed for the purchase of established homes in Western Australia. The first home owner grant of $10,000 for new homes will re...main unchanged. The announced first home owner grant change will not take effect until amending legislation is passed by the Parliament, which is expected to occur during the latter half of 2015. The grant will remain in place for eligible applicants purchasing established homes with contracts signed before the legislation is passed. Eligibility for the $3,000 grant also entitles Western Australian first home owners buying an established property valued up to $530,000 to an associated first home owner duty concession. While the $3,000 grant is to be removed, the first home owner duties concession of up to $14,400 will remain in place. To minimise any change in process relating to the duties first home owner concession, the first home owner system and online form will be amended so that financial institutions can continue to enter the applicants details into the online application form to allow a taxpayers entitlement to the first home owner duty concession to be determined. This approach will continue to see a first home buyer allocated a Unique Identifier Number as currently occurs and will ensure there is no change in the current duties assessment process to apply the first home owner duties concession on the acquisition of established homes. 20.01.2022 The first home owner grant of up to $3,000 for the purchase of established homes in Western Australia has been removed as of 03 October 2015. A first home owner who purchases an established home on or after 03/10/2015 will no longer be eligible for a grant. However, if the value of the property is $530,000 or less, they may still be eligible for the first home owner rate of duty. The first home owner grant of $10,000 for new homes will remain unchanged.

18.01.2022 The first home owners grant is coming to an end. The change of legislation is about to be given Royal assent and the first home owners grant will be abolished on the day following. If you want to still qualify for the FHOG, you must enter into a Contract BEFORE the legislation comes into effect.

15.01.2022 History was made today for the team at Absolutely Settlements. We processed our first ever electronic transaction. Some of the advantages include immediate transfer of funds to the seller and priority updating of the Certificate of Title into the buyers name. 14.01.2022 The State budget brings some bad news for first home buyers. The first home owners grant for established homes has been abolished. The $10,000 grant on new builds remains in place though. It also looks like land tax rates are on the increase.

02.01.2022 Great news for home owners carrying the burden of a mortgage. The Reserve Bank has cut interest rates today. The average variable home loan rate now stands at 5.25%
