Well done to Alannah & Zahn who clocked some big Pb’s this morning. Further congratulations to:... Benjamin Goedemans placing 8th in the Boys 16yr 100m free (taking away a 1.5sec PB earlier in the day). Taya North placing 10th in the Girls 13yr 200m breast (taking away a 1.5sec PB earlier in the day). Our support crew was on form today, & we encourage all swimmers to attend the finals where a team mate is competing. 23.01.2022 What a great way to finish QLD States 2020: another for Ben Goedemans in a hotly contested 800m freestyle (where Grant Hackett’s record was tonight broken). A huge congratulations to our breaststroke superstars who also raced their finals tonight. Boys 16yr 50m Breaststroke - Zahn Percy 4th place, with another PB.... Girls 14yr 50m breaststroke - Kyrah Percy 4th place. Qualifying for QLD States is a great achievement; the culmination of many hours hard work following that black line & many many hours spent pacing up and down the pool by our dedicated coaches. If you have visited affected locations as identified by Queensland Healths contact tracing please do not attend organised sport, active recreation or fitness activities until further information on the situation comes to hand. Please be mindful of others in our community and self-isolate if you... have: COVID-19 or have been in direct contact with a known case of Covid-19 within the last 14 days Flu-like symptoms or you are considered a high health risk (e.g. due to age or pre-existing conditions) Travelled internationally Travelled to a COVID declared hotspot The Qld Chief Health Officer has advised that at this stage, community sport can continue as long as COVID-Safe Plans are in place and adhered to. 14.01.2022 SPECTATOR TICKETS ON SALE Brisbane Short Course Championships Due to COVID-Safe guidelines and restrictions, the Brisbane Short Course Championships will be di...fferent from previous BSA meets. As such, there will be no tickets or programs available to purchase at the meet. All tickets and programs for spectators MUST be pre-purchased online. In line with current restrictions, tickets will therefore be LIMITED, with 772 available for each day of the meet, on a FIRST IN, FIRST SERVED BASIS. Tickets will go on sale through Ticketbooth from 7:00am Tuesday, 8 September. 07.01.2022 On a scorching hot summers day, the Team Behind the Team delivered the goods once more. @swimmingqld sought our assistance to run another meet this season, and what a meet we had. Swimmers gained National Qualifying times; PB’s were smashed; medals were won; and smiles lit the aquatic centre. Thank you to @iona_brisbane for allowing us to host at your facilities once more. Thank you to our swim family community for your huge efforts today - we simply couldn’t run these meets ...without your help Thank you to all the clubs from far & wide who attended; we look forward to welcoming you back again. McDonalds wants to help YOU get back to swimming by giving away a McDonalds towel and a M...accas Keep Cup with 1 months supply of McCaf coffees. There are 2 ways to enter: - Parents/Guardians, simply comment below with the name of a swimmer and their club who you feel is deserving of this prize. - Swimmers, simply comment with your club and Mum or Dads name who you feel deserves a warm drink to keep them moving on these early winter mornings. The swimmer MUST be a member of a Swimming Queensland Club and will win a McDonalds towel with the parent/guardian winning a Maccas Keep Cup and a months supply of McCaf coffees (from participating McCaf locations). The lucky winner will be drawn at random on Friday from the Swimming Queensland Facebook and Instagram competition posts.
