17.01.2022 A big thank-you to everyone who entered the Rename ICE competition. There were some inspired and thoughtful entries received. However, the National Events Committee (NEC) was unable to choose a suitable winner as an alternative to the existing name. Seizing the opportunity in the spirit of the review year, and after much deliberation and consideration, the National Events Committee arrived at a new name that simply describes the focus of the conference. The National Board ...accepted the NEC’s recommendation and confirmed that the new name for ICE is ACCCN’s Annual Education Meeting (AEM). This new name complements the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) and allows scope for innovation and new technology to be incorporated into the conference, framed from an educational perspective. We are excited to have planning underway for AEM 2021 to be held at QT Hotel in Canberra, 13-14 May. More details available soon via acccn.com.au See more

17.01.2022 Virtual Hot Topic Evening: Tuesday 17 November - REGISTER NOW! 'Falling down and getting back up; wellbeing in the time of COVID' During times of change, stress and uncertainty sometimes we see behaviours and even at times exhibit behaviours that are not ideal for our own wellbeing or that of our colleagues. In this wellbeing session we will talk about how we can focus on being compassionate critical nursing leaders and incorporate resilience into our everyday lives in the wo...rkplace. Connection is important - we might be still working hard but are we able to live our lives like we used to - catching up, having a chat - have our work relationships changed? Some of our colleagues have found themselves totally isolated if they’ve come into contact with COVID19 - some have been treated differently with their way of life, their partners, children and extended family lives impacted. Join us in a safe space to talk about the emotional and social aspects of working in critical care. This is a chance to connect, have some input or listen to others to try and understand the challenges and rewards intrinsic to our specialised profession. The evening will be facilitated by Dr Samantha Jakimowicz and Katie Tunks Leach, supported by the NSW/ACT Branch Committee. https://www.acccn.com.au//2020-nswact-virtual-hot-topic-ev
