24.01.2022 Proud to offer our support for this fantastic event! The BlakDance #Minjerribah Dance Lab brings together 11 contemporary dance practitioners living on and/or culturally connected to Quandamooka, Waka Waka, Kabi Kabi, Yugambeh, Kombumerri, Bundjalung, Yuggera, Turrbal, Badtjala or Jinibara Countries. The lab aims to build relationships between dance practitioners and communities and fuel cultural exchange through dance. The Lab encourages innovation and experimentation of movement and dance styles to seed new ideas and collaborations. It has been delivered as part of Creative Alliance Queensland's Regional Arts Services Network - RASN Program in South East Queensland North which is funded by Arts Queensland and has also been supported by Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation and City of Gold Coast.



23.01.2022 Our 2018 Access Arts Achievement Award Winner Carol Taylor artist has been included in a new exhibition at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Her line of functional (and fantastic) clothing, MeQ Designs, is among 55 pieces in the exhibition focused on exploring and breaking down barriers between design and disability.

16.01.2022 Tickets are now on sale to Australia's leading forum on arts, culture and disability, Arts Access Australia' Meeting Place! This year the program will be centred around the theme of 'Creating Space', and will take place entirely online on 15 & 16 September. Auslan-interpreted, live captioned and audio-described, this specially curated disability-led program will showcase national and international speakers across a dynamic mix of panel discussions, keynote speakers, artistic showcases and interactive sessions. Sessions will be delivered zia Zoom and available live or on-demand, where possible.

Join circus and physical theatre performer, Sarah Houbolt, in collaboration with Brenden Borellini (Artist in Residence, Crossroad Arts) for this full day workshop in multisensory theatre-making. Participants will be guided through the theory and practice of using the senses and access tools, like audio description, to open up possibility in both process and product.

12.01.2022 Access Arts is hosting its exhibition at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital again in 2020 but this year, there’s a twist! While the exhibition will still be installed at St Andrew's it will be presented to view online.

10.01.2022 On track a focus on regional arts, was a panel discussion at Meeting Place 2021. The panel included Felicity Chapman (Deadly Weavers, QLD), Sue Millis-Frank and Patty Morris (Deaf Indigenous Dance Group, QLD), and Sergei Netchaef (Mental Bowral, NSW) who celebrated and unpacked the specific challenges to practice and professional pathways for regional artists.

06.01.2022 We are delighted to share the recipients of the Undercover Artist Festival INCUBATE and UNITE Grants Programs. Thank you to Arts Queensland and Queensland Theatre for their support of artists with disability, and to every artist and artsworker who submitted an application. We were overwhelmed by the volume of applications and the outstanding level of talent in Queensland. Thank you also to Leeanne Enoch MP, Minister for the Arts, who shares her congratulations in the video, on behalf of the Queensland Government.

02.01.2022 Join artist and skilled Disability Arts Facilitator Michelle Vine in this sensory-based workshop to co-design and create elements for her upcoming exhibition 'Soft Touch'. Workshop participants will work with Michelle to design and create elements for an artwork called ‘Touch Play Space’ that will be featured in the exhibition.
