05.01.2022 Hi everyone! Welcome to accessilife! I’m Maria and I’m the proud mum of three gorgeous kids. My youngest child, Mateo, has epilepsy and spastic-dystonic quadriplegic cerebral palsy so I understand first hand what its like to look after someone with a severe disability. ... As a regular purchaser of accessible goods and services, I also understand how difficult and time-consuming it can be to find what you are looking for . That is why I created ‘accessilife' - which is a central online resource that is aimed at helping people with a disability, illness or medical condition, find everything they need for accessible living. Its main aim is to help make peoples lives a little bit easier by minimising the countless hours they spend looking for the things they need. It has the following features, together in one central place: - an online Directory of Providers (including NDIS Providers and non-registered Providers); - an online classifieds system for pre-loved accessible goods; - an online community board for upcoming community events; and - an online classifieds system for accessible vehicles. It also includes some ‘accessitips’. We are proud to launch it today and it’s ready for you to search and create any listings. We hope you find it useful. Thank you and welcome to the accessilife community!

02.01.2022 Hi friends! I thought I would tell you a little bit about our story and how accessilife came to be This is our youngest son, Mateo - our inspiration for accessilife! Mateo was diagnosed with neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), which in very simple terms, means he suffered lack of oxygen at birth which resulted in a devastating brain injury. ... He was extremely sick and fragile when he was born, but he fought really hard to stay with us, and we finally got to hold our baby boy when he was one week old. I will never, ever forget that first cuddle; so many powerful and different emotions all at once - joy, excitement, gratitude, fear, anxiety, guilt and grief, but most of all, overwhelming love
