22.01.2022 COVID 19 Update: ACHPER WA would like to provide you with an update and response in regards to COVID 19 virus and its impact on our business. We are following the guidelines and instructions from the various governments and government departments as well as getting advice from teachers and people within education on the best way to proceed. As a result of this a decision was made at a board meeting on Tuesday to enact the following measures: 1. All smaller professional develo...pment sessions due to take place between now and June 30 will be delayed and re-offered in Term 3/4 this year. 2. The one day conference due to be held on April 28 has been cancelled and will not be offered again this year. 3. The North West (Broome) Conference will no longer proceed in May but we will try and reschedule for September if an appropriate date can be found. 4. The early childhood conference on June 8 will be evaluated further in the coming few weeks to determine if it will go ahead or be pushed back until a later date. 5. Mock exam papers will go ahead as planned The ACHPER WA office will remain open and available for any questions you may have or ways we can still help you achieve your policy/professional development goals. We will be spending the next few weeks examining capabilities to offer online PD's instead and will update you on this in due course. We will continue to provide updates on an ongoing basis through our e-news, social media and email outs. We wish you the best during this period and hope you stay as healthy as possible. Regards ACHPER WA

18.01.2022 ACHPER WA is proud to launch its new calendar for 2021 to schools, members and the community. As you will see we have set out an ambitious calendar full of sessions to attend in the post COVID era. The major highlight of next year is that for the first time we will have five conferences in a year which is something that we have never been able to offer before. We also have an extension of offerings in the inclusion (special needs), outdoor education and dance spaces as we l...ook to widen the offerings available to all audiences. We will be heading online for the first time in 2021 as part of the new website and membership software that will be rolled out shortly and this is intended to reach a wider geographical audience as well as start to build a community between teachers across common topics. Regional WA will see more sessions run than ever before as we start to actively target our members and schools in the regions who for many years have always had to travel to Perth for PD. We will continue to set the remaining prices and dates on an ongoing basis and this is all contingent on COVID safe activity but we hope that you can use this information to plan your budgets, timetables and events for next year.
