One of my favourite little things to start to change this and build that confidence in yourself going forward is to say something positive about yourself and what your capable of 3 times when you wake and 3 times before bed. 19.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Meet EJ. EJ has had some obstacles to work through of late so we are returning after a bit of a break and therefore building back up a little bit but I am beyond proud of her and that despite these challenges she has not lost her desire to prioritise her health and fitness in a situation when most people would. ... Here she is performing a Hamstring Curl using an exercise ball. As the name explains it involves the hamstrings but its also a great exercise to make those glutes work and work hard along with the core region to an extent, because in this variation its not only the movement itself we have to focus on. Unless your plan is to roll off or veer all over the place exercise balls require a huge amount of concentration and effort in the way of balance and control and as you might imagine that requires our strong glutes and a strong core region. Keep working hard EJ and remember how much you have to be proud off. Its been a tough road at times but you have not given up and despite these challenges you are continuing to make health and fitness a bigger and bigger part of your life all the time and thats all anyone can ask for. 18.01.2022 Now we are nearing the end of the week, what has it looked for everyone so far? Feel free to comment below. For me so far Its been all about resistance/weight training and recovery. Training hard on Monday and Tuesday, I felt those muscles had earned some rest time on Wednesday, so recovery was the theme of the day. Yesterday it was back to more resistance but with Cricket Training, tomorrow today I opted for a moderate intensity session on the elliptical while I listened to ...some music, being active but not so much I prevent adequate recovery from yesterdays workout for cricket training. 05.01.2022 Are you drinking enough water? Its generally recommended we drink around 3L of water a day. If we are more active we tend to need a little bit more. I get it, its one of those things thats very easy to full behind on and I will admit I have to always remind myself to drink water throughout the day.... What are some of the benefits of keeping our water intake up? - It helps us maintain safe blood pressure levels. - It helps us perform better when we are training or doing any form of exercise. - It makes nutrients and minerals more accessible to our body, as they dissolve in water, and are transferred through our blood. - It allows us to more easily flush waste products out of the body. Basically keeps our internal systems clean. - It helps keep our kidneys healthy. Insufficient fluid can lead to things like kidney stones. - It can help us keep our body fat levels at healthy levels due to making us feel fuller and help prevent over eating. - It helps lubricate the joints and the cartilage around them which helps in the way of shock absorption and makes exercise safer. There are more benefits than this but this just gives you an idea of how important it is to consume enough water.
